Trip to Sicily – Recap

I have very recently come back from a lovely weeks holiday in Sicily with my boyfriend and his parents. I had never been to Sicily before, so I was extremely excited to see what the country would be like. I did a similar recap for my trip to Lanzarote and it is nice to look back on every so often, so I wanted to do the same thing from my trip to Sicily! Here is s recap of my trip to Sicily!

We arrived in Sicily just after dinnertime on Sunday and went straight to our hotel in Taormina! We had a delicious dinner by the pool which was well needed after being up since 2am Sunday morning! After dinner, David and I went to our room and unpacked and got ready for a look around the town. Luckily David has been to Taormina a number of times before so knew of all the places in town that should be seen. Sunday was an early night for us after being up so early but we were all ready for a week in the sun!

Over the course of the week I spent my mornings wandering the town and my afternoons chilling out by the pool and reading the books I had taken with me. David and I had a lovely night together during the week, where we wandered around the town until late, had pizza and just spent some quality time together. Most of our other nights were spent having delicious food out with his parents and then chilling out on our balcony in the evening warm reading my books.

I had a wonderful week relaxing and catching up on some of my reading. Next time I go on holiday I would love for it to be over 7 days as it just went by way too quickly.

The following Sunday we woke up, had donuts for breakfast and headed to the airport. This is where it all went wrong! We were delayed over 4 hours due to an air traffic control failure over France. Instead of being home at 3pm it wasn’t until 8:30pm when we finally arrived home. As you can imagine, David and I were tired, hungry and ready for bed.

Although the holiday didn’t end in the best way I still had a wonderful time in Sicily. I loved how beautiful to town we stayed in was, all the views we had from the hotel and just being able to relax for a week. I already want to be back in the sun!
