Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Book Covers

screen-shot-2017-01-24-at-11-59-00

Hello all and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s top ten topic is favourite book covers. This week’s topic was a freebie, so I thought I would show my favourite book covers. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted the The Broke and the Bookish.

So without further ado, here is this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, favourite book covers.

1) On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher

25744542

I think everyone knows that this is one of my favourite book covers. The detail that you don’t really understand until you’ve read the book is one of my favourite things about it. I can just see this book cover making a perfect print to put on a wall.

2) Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven

1b

I love this book cover because of how simple yet amazing it is. It doesn’t really seem like much of a book cover at first but when you read the book you realise how clever the book cover actually is. Also the shiny blue dot is raised on the cover which is a detail I really enjoy on book covers.

3) Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon

This book cover is another beautiful one. I remember seeing it in my local bookstore and thinking wow who designed that. I love all the little detailing on this book cover. After reading this book I looked at the cover again and realised all of the little detailing. It is just so beautiful and another book cover I would happily have as a print on my wall.

4)  Illuminae by Amie Kaufmen and Jay Kristoff

23395680

There is something about how simple this book cover is that I really like. Even with how simple this cover it, it certainly stands out even when it is on a shelf. I just really like this simple yet different book cover.

5) The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

Now at first glance you think that this book cover was made digitally. But, it was made completely by hand using yarn. I watched a video of this cover being made and it is incredible. She sets out the book title out in nails and wraps the yarn around each nail. I was fascinated when I watched that video. I really like this cover because of how much work went into it.

6) The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos by Kami Garcia

29244700-1

There is a very simple reason why this book cover made my top 10 favourites. This is because of how the design incorporates the X of X-Files by using different weapons or clues to a crime. I just think it is rather clever.

7) Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy

31449227

There is just something about this cover that I really like but I cannot put my finger on it!

8) The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas

32613366

I like the English cover of this book so much more than the American one. You can just about see that the title of the book is meant to have the acronym THUG on the front cover. But, on the spine of the book all it says is THUG and I think it shows a lot of attention to detail.

9) Spontaneous by Aaron Starmer

23587115-1

Again, this is another book with a cover I really like for some reason. A reason that I can’t pin down.

10) The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

30653853

This book cover is just really well designed and stands out to me. Plus it is the book cover of a book from an amazing author.

  1. I love your freebie idea for this week! These covers are so gorgeous; even though I haven’t read Everything Everything yet, the cover is so mesmerizing and eye-catching, it’s no wonder it’s in your top 10 🙂 Stellar list, Lois!
