Today’s post is finally another Top Ten Tuesday! I have been waiting to finally get back into Top Ten Tuesday for weeks.
This week’s topic is meant to be books I liked but can’t remember but I did this as a Top 5 Wednesday topic just last week. So, I have decided to change this topic for this week, I will instead be doing the topic from last week which was bookish goals/resolutions.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted that is now hosted by Jana @ Thatartsyreadergirl.
So without further ado, here is this weeks Top Ten Tuesday, bookish goals/resolutions.
1. Read 30 books!
My reading goal for this year is to read 30 books. I read 27 last year and wanted to up that by a little. I have already read 3 books this year which is quite good for me. I know it is only January but maybe I can keep up 3/4 books read a month and maybe even read 36 books this year.
2. Save money for every book I read!
This is something me and my Mum have decided to do together this year. So, for every book I read this year I am going to put £5 aside. At the end of the year I am going to see how much money I have saved. Me and my Mum are then going to put what we save to get something (we have no idea what yet).
3. Write my book reviews a lot earlier!
Last year it got to the point where I had 5 reviews still to write. I had finished the books ages ago but wasn’t writing the reviews. I actually want to write my book reviews a couple of days after I have finished reading the book this year.
4. Read ARC before their release date!
This was another thing I got into the habit of last year. I was reading the ARCs I wanted in the order I wanted to read them and not in order of their release date. I know it doesn’t make too much of a difference but I would like to read them in release order now and keep track of them somehow.
5. Read more during the day!
I have got into the habit of only really reading books at night just before I go to bed. I think this is because I work really early in the morning and come home and want to catch up on TV programmes or catch up on sleep (I have napped for 4 hours today because I was so tired). I would like to get into the habit of coming home from work and spending a couple of hours sat up with a book before doing anything else.
6. Get into Bookstagram!
I’d really like to get into posting regularly on bookstagram. I would like to learn how to get a little more creative with the pictures I post on there. Also, I’d like to get a better camera for taking pictures. I am currently just using my phone and I really don’t like the photo quality.
7. Re-read the first 4 Harry Potter books!
I have been trying to re-read the Harry Potter series for a few years now. I always seem to start a book and then put it down to never pick it up again. This year I plan on reading up to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I love the Harry Potter series and really want to delve into the world again. I watch the films once every year and also want to have the books entered into my year.
8. Listen to more audiobooks!
I have started listening to more audiobooks in January. I renewed my audible subscription at the end of the year and want to keep it all year this time. I listen to audiobooks in my car on the way to work now. I also have the luxury of being able to listen to them for at least an hour when I start work.
9. Get bookshelves!
I want to actually get some bookshelves this year! I am currently storing my books in drawers and under my bed. I cannot tell which books I own and which books I need to read this way because I cannot see them all and they get lost under my bed. With books I could actually organise them into books I have read and need to read.
10. Write lists to have me keep track of books!
I am a fan of writing down To Do lists, I do it everyday when I get to work and consult it throughout the day. So, I would like to incorporate this into my reading. I want to write a list of ARCs I need to read. My own books I want to read by the end of the year and anything else to do with my reading.

They sound like good goals. I had the same issue with reading books out of date, late reviews and all that. Took some advice from a UK book blogging group on Facebook, started putting everything on a very simple spreadsheet, and I’ve never looked back. Well, apart from not having enough time to do all the reading I want to do…

I think I need to either start a spreadsheet or a notebook!

I really like the idea of saving money for every book you read – a great bit of motivation and will be fun to spend it on something at the end of the year! Keeping track of books I own and need to read is definitely one of my goals! Good luck with all of your goals.

I absolutely need to write reviews soon after reading the novel, I was so bad at doing that last year. Good luck with your reading goals! 😀
