I feel like this month I have done an excellent job at restricting myself on how many books I bought. There were very few book being released this month that I wanted immediately and to save myself from buying too many books I actually preordered most of the books I am hauling this month. I hardly went in a bookshop this month but that doesn’t mean this haul is going to be small! Some of these books were gifted my publishers, this will be mentioned in brackets next to the book. Here is my May book haul!
Right at the start of May I took a trip to Liverpool and had to visit the Waterstones there. I didn’t leave empty handed! I have been excited about this books release for a long time so it was inevitable that I picked up Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff whilst in Liverpool.
In the middle of May I was greeted to some amazing book post after a long day at work, one of which made me extremely happy! The wonderful publishers BKMRK gifted me with two books I was highly anticipating. The Sharp Edge of a Snowflake by Sif Sigmarsdóttir (gifted) and Rose, Interrupted by Patrice Lawrence (gifted). I am going to take these two books on holiday with me and cannot wait to read them whilst I’m there!
When I attended the Ashley Poston and Susan Dennard event in Manchester, I had to pick up a couple of books I was excited about. These were Last Bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron and Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith. After arriving from this event I was surprised with some book mail. The wonderful Charlie at Stripes publishing had sent me Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay (gifted).
After being involved in a car accident towards the end of the month I wanted to treat myself to a book to cheer myself up. The book I bought was Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me by Mariko Tamaki and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell. It was the perfect book to cheer me up.
Towards the end of the month one of my preorders arrived! A book that I read at the start of May thanks to an eARC and loved it so much I needed a physical copy, Meat Market by Juno Dawson.
Overall, May has been a quiet book buying month for me! I am hoping that I can keep my book buying under wraps again for the duration of June but I can’t promise anything!
What books have did you buy in May? What books are you excited for in June? Let me know in the comments below.

Rose, Interrupted and The Sharp Edge of a Snowflake are both excellent, I highly recommend them. I also like how the covers kinda go together.

I’ve been quite good at not buying books recently, I (think) I only bought A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder?
