Alice may be bed-bound, but that doesn't stop her from going outside. Every day, she logs into Stream Cast and experiences the outside world by watching other people live wonderful and exciting lives. But when one of the streamers is killed in a cycle accident, Alice is introduced to a new streamer. Rowan sees beauty in the everyday and encourages her to stop watching, and start taking control. But Rowan too has a secret he's trying to hide from Alice - and from himself. As Alice and Rowan build a bigger and more beautiful world together, outside forces threaten to bring this new world to an end.
This month was actually good for my bank account as I did not buy as many books as I have in previous months. My second haul of 2021 consists of 5 books in total! There are a couple of pre-orders in this haul but it also consists of quite a few books that I just bought myself as a treat. Here is my February book haul!
The second month of 2021 is nearly over and I'm very glad that it is. It may have just been the shortest month of the year but it still felt incredibly long. This month though, I have done my best to stay positive even when it has been tough. I've read quite a bit, I've watched a lot of TV and been on a lot of walks. Here is what happened in February!
I love having exciting posts on my blog and this is certainly one of those! This week Jenny Downham, the author of Furious Thing, is celebrating the release of her book with a jam-packed blog tour. Today is my turn to host Jenny Downham on the blog to share a guest post. Today's post is all about women's anger in Furious Thing. Be sure to check out the other posts on this blog tour because they are all insightful and interesting!
I'm so glad that February is a short month because it has been a rather boring one. I've not done much this month and I've not read much either. Throughout February I have read a total of 5 books which isn't the best for me. So, I am back with another what I've read this month post! I have some thoughts I wanted to share on the books I read in February. This year I have added a section to each of these posts about my reading statistics. Here is a little post that is full of mini reviews for the books I read in February!
Recently, whilst I had nothing to do and was not in the mood for reading, I decided to get creative. This normally means I pick a quote from a book I've loved recently and get designing. So, this is exactly what I did!
Tom's family have moved into their dream home. But pretty soon he starts to notice that something is very wrong - there are strange messages written on the wall and locks on the bedroom doors. On the OUTSIDE. The previous owners have moved just across the road and they seem like the perfect family. Their daughter Amy is beautiful and enigmatic but Tom is sure she's got something to hide. And he isn't going to stop until he finds the truth behind those locked doors. . .
A couple of months ago, I shared what was on my Netgalley shelf. Of course since I posted that I have made my way through a number of the books that were on there and have added even more to it. There have been so many incredible books on my Netgalley shelf over the years and it is a place I've found so many new authors. Here is what is currently on my Netgalley shelf / TBR!
I love a good book tag. They always make me think, I have a lot of fun writing them and love seeing other people's answers. So, when I was the 'I Should Have Read That' book tag over on Books Nest I knew I had to give it a go. Here is the 'I Should Have Read That' book tag!
Alex is a rebel from the tip of her purple fauxhawk to the toes of her biker boots. She's tried everything she can think of to get expelled from her strict Catholic boarding school. Nothing has worked so far - but now, Alex has a new plan. Tired of the sexism she sees in every corner of St Mary's, Alex decides to stage the school's first ever production of The Vagina Monologues. Which is going to be a challenge, as no one else at St Mary's can even bear to say the word 'vagina' out loud . . .
