This time last week I was on the way back from the third TEENSgate blogger event. I walked away with so many books and having had an amazing time.
Being a Northern UK Blogger is quite hard sometimes. Most book and blogger event tend to take place down South specifically in London. Kimi and Fiona from TEENSgate, the YA section of Waterstones Deansgate in Manchester have been incredible and arranged blogger events for us Northern bloggers that take place in store. I wanted to share with you what happened at the event and how to join in if you are also a Northern blogger.
This blogger event was sponsored by Penguin Random House (thank you!). They sent us all a copy of The Truth and Lies of Ella Black by Emily Barr with some postcards, as well as the movie tie-in cover for Love, Simon (Simon Vs. the Homosapien Agenda) by Becky Albertalli. Penguin Random house wanted us all to help in the promotion of both books and in return they would be sharing any posts we make across their social media accounts.
Kimi and Fiona also brought a lot of their unhauled books to the event for us to take home. I may have picked up a lot of these books because I just couldn’t resist. Thank you so much to you both for being the best for organising these events but also making all us bloggers happy with many books. All of these books are talked about in more detail in my HUGE Book Haul.
It was lovely to go to this event and speak to all the bloggers. I have met so many new people through the blogger events. It was lovely to see Lottie, Meggan, Sarah, Amy, Lauren, Becky and Beth again. We all met up in the cafe on the top floor of Waterstones before the event started. We were all a lot less shy than at the first two blogger events. We actually discussed blog post idea this time! Look out for these posts in the future. We also talked about books and The Illuminae Files Readalong hosted by Fiona.
The next blogger event will be taking place on the 4th March. We will be discussing Love, Simon and what we hope to see in the movie adaptation. If you want to come to any of the future blogger events, or book events at the Waterstones Deansgate store follow @TEENSgate on Twitter.
