I am so excited about this post! I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a part of the I Was Born For This blog tour. This isn’t your typical blog tour is is actually a YA playlist. Alice’s latest book I Was Born For This is all about fandoms, bands and music so what better to show love for this book than a playlist!

This blog tour will be sharing different songs from Alice Oseman’s I Was Born For This playlist. Each blog will feature a different song each day of the tour. As well as that, us bloggers will be sharing a song that we love to add to this massive YA playlist.

Alice’ Song:

Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry) by Run the Jewels

Alice: I put this track on the I Was Born For This playlist purely because of the vibes it gives off, rather than the lyrics. I love Run the Jewels and their dark, passionate tracks – their super-fast, chaotic verses just make me think of The Ark’s manic world of money and fame. This is one of my favourite tracks by them! And, you know, there’s a lot of crying in I Was Born For This. A lot.

My Song:

Afterglow by All Time Low
Lois: I picked this track for a couple of reasons. This song was the one song I played on repeat last summer and it holds a lot of memories for me. All Time Low is a band I am a big fan of. I love their music and they are also fun to see live. I saw them perform Afterglow live recently and it made me love the song even more. Everyone at the concert were having an amazing time and I made a new memory seeing this song played live. Not only that but Bliss from I Was Born For This is also a fan of All Time Low, so it seemed fitting.

About I Was Born For This

thumbnailFor Angel Rahimi, life is only about one thing: The Ark – a pop-rock trio of teenage boys who are currently taking the world by storm. Being part of The Ark’s fandom has given her everything – her friendships, her dreams, her place in the world.

Jimmy Kaga-Ricci owes everything to The Ark too. He’s their frontman – and playing in a band is all he’s ever dreamed of doing. Processed with VSCO with c6 presetIt’s just a shame that recently everything in his life seems to have turned into a bit of a nightmare.

Because that’s the problem with dreaming – eventually, inevitably, real life arrives with a wake-up call. And when Angel and Jimmy are unexpectedly thrust together, they will discover just how strange and surprising facing up to reality can be.
