I’ve seen this book tag going around and thought it would be perfect to summarised the first of 2018 in reading for me! How in the world is it already halfway through 2018?
B
est book you’ve read in 2018 so far?
I’ve read a few 5 star books this year so far, but the one that always stands out for me. It has to be I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman. I reviewed this book immediately, I was also part of the blog tour and then I even got the chance to interview Alice Oseman.
Best sequel you’ve read in 2018 so far?
I haven’t read any sequels so far this year….
New release that you haven’t read yet but want to?
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman is a book I really want to read. I have heard so many good things about this book in the past couple of months and I really want to give it a read before the year is over.
Most anticipated release for the next half of 2018?
Floored the collaborative novel. I have already read this book and loved it but it isn’t out until the 12th July. This book is going to be huge and I cannot wait to recommend it non-stop.
Biggest disappointment in 2018 so far?
Eve of Man by Tom and Giovanna Fletcher. I only got 70 pages into this book and had to DNF. I really did not like this book for many reasons and I am so upset about it. I love Tom and Gi but this book didn’t work for me.
Biggest surprise is 2018 so far?
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. I didn’t know what to expect from a book that had been hyped up so much and was expecting to be let down. I loved this book so much though and couldn’t put it down. John Green worked his magic!
Favourite new author of 2018 so far (debut or new to you)?
Alice Oseman. I had never read any of her books before this year but had heard so many good things about them. I have now read 2 of her 3 books and have really enjoyed both.
Newest fictional crush?
I weirdly never have fictional crushes, so none?
Newest favourite character?
I would have to say Jimmy from I Was Born for This, I loved his character.
A book that made you cry?
Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, I cried like a baby at this book.
A book that made you happy?
Geekerella by Ashley Poston, this book made me so happy and I smiled so much whilst reading it.
The most beautiful book you’ve bought or received in 2018?
In Real Life by Cory Doctorow and Jen Wang. This book is so beautiful and I got lost whilst reading it!
What books do you need to read by the end of 2018?
Too many!
We are already halfway through 2018, I cannot believe it, I hope you enjoyed this tag!
