April Releases I’m Excited About!

New Book Releases!

I am back again with another of my releases I’m excited about posts! April is yet again another month of lots of brand new young adult books! We are being treated with so many new releases this year and I am excited for it! Here are the April releases I’m excited about!

LineYou Owe Me a Murder by Eileen Cook

You Owe Me a Murder“17-year-old Kim never expected to plot a murder. But that was before her boyfriend dumped her for another girl. Now, Kim’s stuck on a class trip to London with him and his new soulmate and she can’t help wishing he was a little bit dead, even if she’d never really do that.

But when Kim meets Nicki, a stranger on the plane who’s more than willing to listen to Kim’s woes, things start to look up. Nicki’s got a great sense of humor, and when she jokes about swapping murders, Kim plays along—that is, until Kim’s ex-boyfriend mysteriously dies.”

I had no idea about this book until the wonderful Sarah from The Little Contemporary Corner mentioned it to me! This sounds like a book I would love to read. The synopsis grabbed my attention immediately and I am planning on pre-ordering it. Thank you for bringing this to my attention Sarah! I cannot wait to pick it up!

Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman

35716237“Rumi Seto spends a lot of time worrying she doesn’t have the answers to everything. What to eat, where to go, whom to love. But there is one thing she is absolutely sure of—she wants to spend the rest of her life writing music with her younger sister, Lea.

Then Lea dies in a car accident, and her mother sends her away to live with her aunt in Hawaii while she deals with her own grief. Now thousands of miles from home, Rumi struggles to navigate the loss of her sister, being abandoned by her mother, and the absence of music in her life. With the help of the “boys next door”—a teenage surfer named Kai, who smiles too much and doesn’t take anything seriously, and an eighty-year-old named George Watanabe, who succumbed to his own grief years ago—Rumi attempts to find her way back to her music, to write the song she and Lea never had the chance to finish.”

This is one of the books I have been excited about for such a long time! Akemi is such an amazing author and person and her books always get extraordinary reviews. I cannot wait to pick this up and give it a read. I haven’t heard a bad word about this book and don’t think I ever will!

Dark secrets lurk in the future of the girl from the past…”

Again this is another book that I have been excited about for a long time! This book sounds like it is right up my alley, YA meets black mirror! Also the cover of this book is stunning and shiny and who doesn’t love a cover like that! I cannot wait to pick this book up and read it immediately!

The Meaning of Birds by Jaye Robin Brown

37655502“Before: Jess has always struggled with the fire inside her. But when she meets Vivi, everything changes. I was actually gifted a copy of this book by the publishers just last week and I am beyond excited to give it a read! Yet another stunning book cover that I don’t want to take my eyes off! I cannot wait to start reading this book very soon, I am not reading any reviews of it and instead going in blind!
