May Releases I’m Excited About!

New Book Releases!I am back again with another of my releases I’m excited about posts! May is once again another month of lots of brand new Young Adult books! I can’t quite believe how many new releases we are being treated to this year! I am certainly excited for it! Here are the May releases I’m excited about!

LineAurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

9781760295738“The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…
A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering”

I cannot quite put into words how excited I am to get my hands on this book! I loved the Illuminae Files series and as soon as I found out about this book I was invested! I have this book on pre-order and I cannot wait to dive right into it!

Birthday by Meredith Russo

43924017“Meet Eric and Morgan. Born on the same day, at the same time, in the same place. They’ve always shared this one day together, but as they grow up they begin to grow apart. Everyone expects Eric to get a football scholarship, but no one knows he’s having second thoughts. Former quarterback Morgan feels utterly alone, as she wrestles with the difficult choice to live as her true self. Both of them are struggling to be the person they know they are. Who better to help than your best friend? Told on one day every year, over six years, this is a story about how change pulls people apart… and how love brings them back together.”

I have been excited about this book for a long time now! It has such an interesting concept of a love story being written over the space of 18 years. I have so many people talk about this book in the run-up to it being releases and I cannot wait to finally get my hands on it next month!

20/05/19 – Pre-Order Here

Last Bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron

43307357“Brody Fair feels like nobody gets him: not his overworked parents, not his genius older brother, and definitely not the girls in the projects set on making his life miserable. Then he meets Nico, an art student who takes Brody to Everland, a “knock-off Narnia” that opens its door at 11:21pm each Thursday for Nico and his band of present-day misfits and miscreants.”

I am actually reading this book at the minute and I am loving it a lot! It is a book to read if you are looking to escape the real-world. Last Bus to Everland has fantasy elements but also tackles real life hard-hitting topics. I cannot wait for this book to finally be out in the world!

16/05/19 – Pre-Order Here

Meat Market by Juno Dawson

41020256“The heroine of the novel, Jana Novak, is a girl from a south London estate. Despite being uncomfortable with her looks she is unexpectedly scouted and catapulted to fashion superstardom. The industry is, however, as grimy as it is glamorous and there are unexpected predators at every turn.”

I love Juno Dawson’s novels and I get incredibly excited about any of her new books and this one is no different! This book has been getting a lot of glowing reviews already and I cannot wait to start reading it myself. Juno always writes stunning books and I feel this will be no different!
