Today is the day I will be arriving in one of my favourite places in the world for my holiday! When this posts I will be on a plane to Lanzarote and I am so excited. To celebrate the fact that I am going on holiday I wanted to do a book tag that was kind of related to going on holiday/vacation! Here it is!
It’s the dead of winter and you are escaping to a tropical location. Hours in the sun with a book are on your “to-do” list. What book do you bring with you?
With it being the dead of winter at home this would probably influence my reading choices even if I was going to a tropical location. If I am in a winter mood I will not want to read summer books. So, I would take Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, My True Love Gave to Me by Various Authors and Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn.
Summer has arrived! You spend your weekends camping in the mountains. Fresh air, trees, animals, and campfires keep you company on your outing. What book do you bring to read next to the sound of the flowing creek?
I love a good summer read and sitting next to a river or lake is one of my favourite things to do and always makes me want to read. There is a few books I would take for this situation, What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord and My Heart Goes Bang by Keris Stainton.
Fall is approaching. Nothing makes your happier than crunchy leaves turning red and orange and purple. You bring a book to the local park to read on a bench under the whispering trees. What book do you read?
Autumn is my favourite season of the year and always has been. I love the colours and walking through crunchy leaves is my favourite thing to do. I like reading feel good books throughout Autumn. So, there is a few books I would take for this situation, Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich, I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman and My Almost Flawless Tokyo Dream Life by Rachel Cohn.
Christmas is in the air. Lights, and shopping. You want to curl up next to the fireplace with a good book that reminds you of comfort. What do you curl up with?
Christmas is the time of the year I actually do the least amount of reading. This is usually because it is the most amount of time I get off from work to spend with my family and I don’t want to miss that. I do love a comfort read though and have a few books to fit this situation. These are Last bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron, Fierce Fragile Hearts by Sara Barnard and Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han.
Winter lasts so long. You need something to remind you that the sun will come out again. What book to you read to take you away on the vacation you wish you were going on?
I’m not one for reading books based on the season we are currently in but I do love a good book that reminds me of summer when we are in the freezing cold months of winter. These are, Geekerella by Ashley Poston, Heartstopper by Alice Oseman and Birthday by Meredith Russo.
This tag was a lot of fun and got me even more excited to be by a pool in a sunny place reading! Do certain seasons make you think of certain books? Let me know in the comments!
This tag is super cute!! Think I’ll do it soon 😊

Ooh there are some truly excellent books in this tag! I’ve also managed to add some on to my TBR, oh dear. Totally agree with Geekerella and Heartstopper, they’re the type of books that remind you that good times will come around again.

What did you think of Dear Evan Hansen? I read it a few months ago and wasn’t a fan 🙈

I really enjoyed it but I think it’s because I was listening to the soundtrack non-stop whilst reading the book!

I love the soundtrack and can’t wait to see the show in November, but found some parts of the book quite problematic 🙈
