September Releases I’m Excited For!

New Book Releases!Today, I am back once again with another of my new releases I’m excited about posts! September is another busy month when it comes to brand new Young Adult books. There are a lot this month that I am excited about and I cannot wait to give them all a read! Here are the September releases I am excited about!

LineSlay by Brittney Morris

43723509 (1)“By day, seventeen-year-old Kiera Johnson is an honors student, a math tutor, and one of the only Black kids at Jefferson Academy. But at home, she joins hundreds of thousands of Black gamers who duel worldwide as Nubian personas in the secret multiplayer online role-playing card game, SLAY. No one knows Kiera is the game developer, not her friends, her family, not even her boyfriend, Malcolm, who believes video games are partially responsible for the “downfall of the Black man.”

This is a book that not only have I been hearing a lot about for the past few months but also a book I have been extremely excited about myself! I am hoping to read this one whilst I am on holiday because I was lucky enough to be gifted a proof! I cannot wait!

How to Be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters

43459392“Everyone on campus knows Remy Cameron. He’s the out-and-gay, super-likable guy that people admire for his confidence. The only person who may not know Remy that well is Remy himself. So when he is assigned to write an essay describing himself, he goes on a journey to reconcile the labels that people have attached to him, and get to know the real Remy Cameron.”

This is another that I have been wanting to read for a long time. I have heard so many incredible things about Julian Winters last book so I am extremely excited to get this one and give it a read. I am going to be asking for this one as a present for my birthday. It is one I want to take on a short weekend break with me and devour quickly!

Chinglish by Sue Cheung

43159424._SY475_“Jo Kwan is a teenager growing up in 1980s Coventry with her annoying little sister, too-cool older brother, a series of very unlucky pets and utterly bonkers parents. But unlike the other kids at her new school or her posh cousins, Jo lives above her parents’ Chinese takeaway. And things can be tough – whether it’s unruly customers or the snotty popular girls who bully Jo for being different. Even when she does find a BFF who actually likes Jo for herself, she still has to contend with her erratic dad’s behaviour. All Jo dreams of is breaking free and forging a career as an artist.”

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book very early on into 2019 but didn’t want to read until nearer the release date! I cannot wait to finally read this book and see it out and about in public. It just sounds like an excellent story that I could fly through.

The Liars by Jennifer Mathieu

42642068“Every year, summer begins when the Callahans arrive on Mariposa Island. That’s when Elena Finney gets to escape her unstable, controlling mother by babysitting for their two children. And the summer of 1986 promises to be extra special when she meets J.C., the new boy in town, whose kisses make Elena feel like she’s been transported to a new world.”

I have heard so many amazing things about Jennifer Mathieu’s previous books but I have yet to read one myself. This is the one I am going to start with as it sounds like it is right up my street! I am hoping to take this one on holiday and I cannot wait to finally read it!

Frankly in Love by David Yoon

9780241373439“Frank Li is a high school senior living in Southern California. Frank’s parents emigrated from Korea, and have pretty much one big rule for Frank – he must only date Korean girls.

But he’s got strong feelings for a girl in his class, Brit – and she’s not Korean. His friend Joy Song is in the same boat and knows her parents will never accept her Chinese American boyfriend, so they make a pact: they’ll pretend to date each other in order to gain their freedom.”

I cannot contain my excitement about this book and how excited I am to finally read it! I love David Yoon’s wife’s books (Nicola Yoon) and know that David helps her a lot with her work. So, as soon as I saw that he was releasing a book and I fell in love with the synopsis I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!
