December Releases I’m Excited About!

New Book Releases!Today I am back once again with another of my new releases I’m excited about posts! December is certainly a quieter month when it comes to new Young Adult books so this time round I have included a couple of fiction books I am also quite excited for! I cannot wait to give them all a read! Here are the December releases I am excited about!LineChildren of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi

39122774.jpgAfter battling the impossible, Zélie and Amari have finally succeeded in bringing magic back to the land of Orïsha. But the ritual was more powerful than they could’ve imagined, reigniting the powers of not only the maji, but of nobles with magic ancestry, too.

Now, Zélie struggles to unite the maji in an Orïsha where the enemy is just as powerful as they are. But when the monarchy and military unite to keep control of Orïsha, Zélie must fight to secure Amari’s right to the throne and protect the new maji from the monarchy’s wrath.’

Of course I had to include this one on this post because I have been excited for it for month. I don’t normally read fantasy books but last year when I picked up Children of Blood and Bone before an event with Tomi and read it in a couple of sittings I was hooked into the Orïsha universe. I cannot wait to see what happens next and I know I will be reading this as soon as it is in my hands!

The Dead Girls Club by Damien Angelica Walters

45701350.jpg‘In 1991, Heather Cole and her friends were members of the Dead Girls Club. Obsessed with the macabre, the girls exchanged stories about serial killers and imaginary monsters, like the Red Lady, the spirit of a vengeful witch killed centuries before. Heather knew the stories were just that, until her best friend Becca began insisting the Red Lady was real–and she could prove it.

That belief got Becca killed.

It’s been nearly thirty years, but Heather has never told anyone what really happened that night–that Becca was right and the Red Lady was real. She’s done her best to put that fateful summer, Becca, and the Red Lady, behind her. Until a familiar necklace arrives in the mail, a necklace Heather hasn’t seen since the night Becca died.

The night Heather killed her.’

I stumbled across the synopsis of this one whilst looking for another book for a customer at the library and I was immediately all for this book. It has really intrigued me and I would love to read it as it isn’t something I would normally pick up. Sometimes it is good to step out of your reading comfort zones!

Dead Astronauts by Jeff VanderMeer

44581530.jpg‘A messianic blue fox who slips through warrens of time and space on a mysterious mission. A homeless woman haunted by a demon who finds the key to all things in a strange journal. A giant leviathan of a fish, centuries old, who hides a secret, remembering a past that may not be its own. Three ragtag rebels waging an endless war for the fate of the world against an all-powerful corporation. A raving madman who wanders the desert lost in the past, haunted by his own creation: an invisible monster whose name he has forgotten and whose purpose remains hidden.’

Now this is another book I would never normally read but I am so intrigued by this and really want to give it a go. Also, we are all a sucker for a good book cover and this one is beautiful!

  1. THESE COVERS!! Without even hearing a plot, I want to read The Dead Girls Club. The title and cover were enough, but the synopsis sounds really interesting too!
