Hello all, hope you are well! I am back once again with another book haul. This month’s haul is exactly the same size as last month’s haul. It seems like 6 books is a standard for me a month. I need to lower this in the coming months! I had couple books on pre-order and decided to treat myself to some as I’ve been keeping safe. I was also gifted a book this month as well. I will highlight in brackets next to any books if they were gifted. So, here is my June book haul.

Throughout June I went from reading dystopian and mystery books to wanting to read nothing but romance and I have no idea why. As much as I am missing visiting bookshops I am also absolutely terrified to go back to a ‘new normal’. I am just not ready for it, so, for a while I will be buying my books from indie bookstores online and I’m happy with that.
Once again becuase I haven’t been in a bookstore and able to browse I have been buying books from my wishlist which has been a lot of fun! From my wishlist this month I bought, Hold Still by Nina LaCour which I am really excited to read and have heard a lot about. I also bought How to Be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters which I cannot wait to read, this is one I am going to read this summer for sure! Finally, from my wishlist I bought Pet by Akwaeke Emezi as I’ve heard a lot of things about this one and I’m hoping to read it very soon.
This month I had a couple of pre-orders to arrive, one being The Falling in Love Montage by Ciara Smyth. I ordered this quite a while ago and I’m hoping to co-read this with the wonderful Sarah from The Little Contemporary Corner soon! The other pre-order I had wasn’t technically a pre-order, just one I had ordered and had to wait for a re-print to happen. This was Normal People by Sally Rooney. I absolutely adored the TV series and of course had to read the book. I’m working my way through this slowly at the minute and I am loving it.
Towards the end of the month I received some very exciting book post! It was The Rules by Tracy Darnton (gifted)! I’m hoping to read this one soon and have my review up for it very very soon!
Overall, I ended the month with 6 more physical books than I started which is a lot less than I expected. I’ve recently gone through how many unread books I own and I think a book buying ban needs to happen very soon. Let me know if you’d like a blog post about my unread books in the comments!

What books did you buy in June and what books are you excited for in July? Let me know in the comments!

I feel like I haven’t bought a lot of books this year. I think June was the first month in a while that I actually bought physical books. The recent ones I bought were The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, Clap When You Land and The Poet X both by Elizabeth Acevedo.

I got Pet in a Wildest Dreams box and loved it, it’s such a fast read.
I thought The Rules was amazing, it’s the prepper thriller I never knew I needed and I’ve read it twice already haha.
