New Releases I’m Excited For – September

September is nearly here and so are so many amazing new books coming out throughout the month of September. So, I wanted to share the ones I’m most excited about in this post. Here are the new book releases I’m excited for in September!

After the death of his best friend, Eric Ly creates imaginary scenarios in his head to deal with his grief. Until one of them becomes real when a boy he met last summer in Japan finds his way back into his life. When he least expects it, Haru Tanaka walks into the coffee shop and sits down next to him. The only thing is, nobody else can see him.

In a magical turn of events, Eric suddenly has someone to connect with, making him feel less alone in the world. But as they spend more and more time together, he begins to question what is real. When he starts losing control of the very thing that is holding him together, Eric must finally confront his reality. Even if it means losing Haru forever.

I’ve been lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I will certainly be reading it before it is released. Having read Dustin Thao’s previous book, I’m very excited for give this one a read. I’m sure it is going to break my heart but I’m sure it is going to be exceptional.

One wealth-obsessed man – who is also dead.

One status-obsessed woman – who is the perfect accessory.

Their four inheritance-obsessed children – each with a killer instinct.

And a murder-obsessed outsider looking to expose them all…

I’m reading this one at the moment and I’m loving it. Bella Mackie’s writing is incredibly gripping and full of humour. I cannot wait to read more of it and to see what will happen throughout the rest of the book. I’m sure it will be excellent and I’ll certainly be sharing my thoughts on it soon.

The mysterious café where customers arrive hoping to travel back in time welcomes four new guests:

– The father who could not allow his daughter to get married
– A woman who couldn’t give Valentine’s Day chocolates to her loved one
– A boy who wants to show his smile to his divorced parents
– A wife holding a child with no name . . .

They must follow the café’s strict rules, however, and come back to the present before their coffee goes cold.

I think the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series is one of the most beautiful series there is out there at the moment. Each tell different stories of people dealing with different things and shows how the coffee shop helps them. I adore them all and I cannot wait for another book to be added to the series.

Aside from the fact that they are brothers, Peter and Ivan Koubek seem to have little in common.

Peter is a Dublin lawyer in his thirties – successful, competent and apparently unassailable. But in the wake of their father’s death, he’s medicating himself to sleep and struggling to manage his relationships with two very different women – his enduring first love Sylvia, and Naomi, a college student for whom life is one long joke.

Ivan is a twenty-two-year-old competitive chess player. He has always seen himself as socially awkward, a loner, the antithesis of his glib elder brother. Now, in the early weeks of his bereavement, Ivan meets Margaret, an older woman emerging from her own turbulent past, and their lives become rapidly and intensely intertwined.

For two grieving brothers and the people they love, this is a new interlude – a period of desire, despair and possibility – a chance to find out how much one life might hold inside itself without breaking.

I cannot wait to have another Sally Rooney book in my life. Her writing is always spectacular and her stories are unforgettable. I’m not too sure what to expect going into to this one but I’m excited to find out!
