This is a new kind of post for me. I suddenly decided the other night that I wanted to start a bullet journal. I have decided to be really organised this year. I bought 3 notebooks the other day all for different things. One for blogging ideas, another for instagram ideas and the finally one to keep track of book releases and books I have to read. Then I bought a journal to start my own bullet journal.
I spent an entire evening setting up my bullet journal for the month of February. So, I thought I would share how I set up my bullet journal in preparation for February.
February Cover Spread – So, for my first ever month cover spread I decided to go quite simple. I’ll start from left to right and explain. The quote on the left is from the Disney Pixar film Coco. I watch the film the day before I designed this spread and it has certainly left an impression on me. I have been singing the songs non-stop and recommending it to everyone! On the right is quite self explanatory I just made sure I had February stand out on the page and made it look pretty with some stock paper and washi tape.
Books and Habit Tracker Spread –I decided I only had a couple of things I wanted to keep track of in the first month of bullet journalling. I might add more to this next month, we shall see. So, on the books read page I will just be keeping track of any books I have read this month. If there are any notes I need to make immediately on a book they will be made on this page. On the habit tracker page I am going to be tracking my blogging, reading and instagram posts. I am going to colour in when I do each of the things I am tracking. At the end of the month I plan on looking back on this and seeing if there is anything I feel like I’m lacking in or doing a lot in.
Blogging and Instagram Ideas Spread – I plan on writing on the spread whenever an idea pops in my head. I had it with me at work and an idea popped into my head and I wrote it down immediately so that I didn’t forget it. I absolutely love the bee inspired hexagon washi tape I used on this page and it features a lot over the month.
February Montly Calender Spread – I made this as simple as I could. I added a few stock card pieces and a little bit of heart washi tape. This is the only page that has a hint of Valentines Day on it. I plan on writing anything that is a key event, key time/date or any books that are released in February.
February Memories Spread – This page is going to be the page I write/draw anything that I want to remember. I don’t have anything huge planned this month, but I want to fill this book up with memories. Even if it is just going on a walk or reading in a nice location I am going to add it to this page. The stock paper I used on this page is my favourite. I actually bought a set of stock paper that is inspired by dias de los muertos, thanks to Coco for making me fall in love with this celebration.
Weekly Spreads – I have 5 weekly spreads to span across February. They do spill into January and March but I had to do that to make it all look organised. I am going to be writing what my shifts are at work in each day and if I do any overtime. Any appointments, things I don’t want to forget and what I want to post on my blog and write on that day. I made each weekly spread different with the decorations. A couple of pages have little flowers on them, all the pages have a little bit of stock paper on them and the bee inspired washi tape also features in a spread or two. I want to make sure I write in each box in my weekly spread even if it is just adding how I felt that day or a quote or something that happened that day. I might be a bit more creative with my weekly spreads for next month but for now I am happy with how they turned out.
Illuminae Files Read Along –The final spread I have done for February is for the Illuminae Files Read Along that is being hosted by the wonderful Fiona @ Findingtheplotofmylife. I am going to be tracking my reading progress and also my input in the challenges on this spread. I am so excited to read this set of books in preparation for Obsido being released! Your bullet journal looks great! I always see these and think that I should start one but I haven’t done it yet. I also saw Coco when it came out and LOVED it. It’s one of my all time favorite Disney movies 🙂

That’s wonderful!! I’m really curious about habit trackers and how people use them, so I’d be glad to see more of how those work for you. Right now mine is minimalist all the way, though I do like washi! LOL!
