What Happened in May?

It is already the end of May! May was another busy month for me. I am so excited for it to be June though as in less than 5 days I will be on holiday in Lanzarote! Me and David are going back to the same place as last year and we are so excited. Screen Shot 2017-12-05 at 15.30.59

I have managed to read 5 books this month. 2 audiobooks, 2 graphic novels and 1 novel. Audiobooks are my saviour when it comes to reading, I can listen to them at work, in my car and places where I wouldn’t be able to read otherwise. I have a lot of novels on my TBR for June whilst I am on holiday. So, they should overtake audiobooks and graphic novels in June. Here are the books I read this month:

  • The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang (Graphic Novel) 4‘s
  • Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard (Audiobook) 4‘s
  • Awkward by Svetlana Chmakova (Graphic Novel) 4‘s
  • Editing Emma by Chloe Seager (Audiobook) 3‘s
  • Geekerella by Ashley Poston (Novel) 5‘s

My favourite read of this month has to be Geekerella by Ashley Poston. I couldn’t put this book down. I even delayed my Chinese takeaway so I could finish it.

I didn’t quite meet my goal of posting 3 times every week in May but I certainly posted a lot more. I have had so much more fun with bog posts this month and it really helped that I planned everything out right at the beginning of May. Here are my top 5 posts of May:

Screen Shot 2018-05-31 at 16.11.20.pngI am at 11 books ahead of schedule with my reading challenge at the minute, but at the beginning of June I am actually going to up this from 30 books to 40 books. I feel as though I should be able to reach that. I now have £115 saved up, this is after putting aside £5 for every book I read this year. At the minute this money is being put towards a trip to Disneyland Paris for my 21st birthday which is in October this year!

So, May was a very busy month for me. At the beginning of the month I was having issues with my phone, it wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do and kept crashing. I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a new phone. I have swapped from an iPhone to a Google Pixel 2XL. I love it, it is certainly a change from iPhone but I am getting used to it and it takes amazing pictures. Here is on I took of my dog Maggie on my new phone. I haven’t edited this at all!

Also May was the month of interviewing authors for me. I got to interview Sophie Anderson, Alice Oseman and Akemi Dawn Bowman. My lovely friend Kimi sorted this out for me and I am so grateful. It was lovely to chat to all of the authors and you can look out for the interviews with Sophie and Akemi soon. Here is my interview with Alice. I just have to sort out the other 2 interviews and they will be with you very soon!

Finally in May I met up with Kimi, Fiona and Katie for some cake and an afternoon out to celebrate Kimi’s birthday. I had a lovely afternoon out with them eating amazing cake, chicken katsu curry and spending lots of time in art shops!
