It is already the end of June! June has been on of my favourite months of the year. I have done a lot this month. I will talk about all that in the post but June has been lovely and I hope July is just the same.
I have managed to read 6 books this month. 1 audio book and 5 novel. I loved being on holiday because I actually got to spend a lot of time reading which is just what I needed. Here are the books I read this month:
- Your Turn to Die by Sue Wallman (Novel) 4★‘s
- Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt (Novel) 4★‘s
- One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus (Novel) 4★‘s
- My Box-Shaped Heart by Rachael Lucas (Novel) 4★‘s
- Solitaire by Alice Oseman (Audio book) 3★‘s
- Floored by Sara Barnard, Holly Bourne, Tanya Byrne, Non Pratt, Melinda Salisbury, Lisa Williamson and Eleanor Wood (Novel) 4★‘s
My favourite read of this month has to be Your Turn to Die by Sue Wallman. I couldn’t put this book down, I was really in the mood for a thriller/mystery book and this fulfilled it.

I didn’t post as much as I wanted to this month. I had a plan to write posts whilst on holiday but I was so chilled out I kept forgetting. I think I needed the holiday and time off though as I am now getting back in a blogging rhythm. I have a plan for the month of July and I am really planning to stick to it. Here are my top 5 posts of June:
- My Favourite Books of 2018 so Far!
- July Releases I’m Excited About!
- What I Read on Holiday!
- Question Time with Sophie Anderson – Author of The House with Chicken Legs
- Book Review: Geekerella by Ashley Poston
I upped my reading challenge at the beginning of the month. I was not prepared to read this much this year, so I wanted to up my challenge and read a lot more. I am at 10 books ahead of schedule with my reading challenge at the minute. I now have £145 saved up, this is after putting aside £5 for every book I read this year. I now have no idea what I am going to put this money towards, me and my Mum are doing this and are planning on doing something together with our money, we can’t figure out what yet.
So, June was a busy but amazing month for me. Me and David went on holiday to Lanzarote for 11 days right at the beginning of the month. It was exactly what we needed. After having a tough year we really needed a holiday where we could relax and spend some time doing what we wanted to do. I love Lanzarote so much, where we stay is beautiful and relaxing and we have decided to go back again next year. It seems to have become a tradition for me to take a picture with the yellow elephant that is the mascot of one of the shops in Lanzarote. I don’t know why but these pictures always make me laugh.
I also finally bought the domain for my blog this month, so it is officially mine! I have been meaning to do this for a while but I took the step this month and I am planning on doing more with the website next month.
I also went to the Orion on Tour event in Manchester this month. I was invited by one of my lovely friends Katie. It was lovely to spend a night with bloggers and authors talking about the things we love (books). I also got to meet Keris Stainton at the event, which is something I didn’t expect. She appeared at the door and my friend Kimi squealed. I left the event after having a lovely night with a lot of my friends and with many books!
This month has been the month of horrendous hay fever. I had hay fever last year but the typical hay fever tablets fixed me up right away. This year it has been horrendous. I have been feeling really ill with it for the past couple of weeks. I can’t stop sneezing, coughing, my throat is really sore and I am struggling to breath properly with how tight chested it has made me. I went to the doctors to try and get this fixed but nothing has happened just yet. I am hoping it is calmer if not fixed in July! I am loving all this hot weather but not when I am having to sit inside with the windows closed because of how ill the pollen is making me.
Finally in June, we booked a holiday for my 21st birthday! I am turning 21 at the beginning of October and I am not one for parties or drinking. I am much more a stay at home with family and chill person. I wanted to do something for my 21st birthday though. So, me and my mum have planned a holiday for me and family to spend a few days in Disneyland Paris a couple weeks after my birthday. I am so excited as I haven’t been to a Disney park in a long time. I am going to start planning for the holiday in July and start the countdown!
June is already over for another year! July is the month of YALC and I am so excited!
