Books to Devour in Summer – Part Two

Books to Devour

A few days ago a posted a little post which included a few perfect books to devour in summer! This was part of a two part post and here is part two! I have even more books to recommend to you to devour this summer! You can find part one of this little two-part series here. For now, here is part two of books to devour in summer!

LineLily’s Just Fine by Gill Stewart

44064289“Lily couldn’t have planned life better herself. She lives in the best house in town and she’s dating the most popular boy in school. Everything else she can fix. Mum’s apathy? On it! The stuffy gala committee? Watch this space!

Tom has enough on his plate without trying to drag Newton St Cuthbert into the 21st Century. His sister is sick and there’s nothing anyone can do. Not doctors, not his parents, and certainly not Lily Hildebrand.”

This book is the perfect unexpected summer romance that you won’t want to miss this year! I have heard so many good things about this book and so many people have said that it is the perfect book to read to get you in a summer mood. I will certainly be picking this book up once it is released in July and I’m sure I’ll be devouring it!

Invisible Ghosts by Robyn Schneider

35230429.jpg“Rose Asher believes in ghosts. She should, since she has one for a best friend: Logan, her annoying, Netflix-addicted brother, who is forever stuck at fifteen. But Rose is growing up, and when an old friend moves back to Laguna Canyon and appears in her drama class, things get complicated.

Jamie Aldridge is charming, confident, and a painful reminder of the life Rose has been missing out on since her brother’s death. She watches as Jamie easily rejoins their former friends–a group of magnificently silly theatre nerds–while avoiding her so intensely that it must be deliberate.”

Robyn Schneider is my go-to summer YA authors. I always seem to be reading her books in the summer. I managed to completely miss this one being released last year, so you bet I will be reading it this summer! It has received glowing reviews from so many people! This seems like the perfect book to devour in the summer!

The Other Side of Lost by Jessi Kirby

35820001“Mari Turner’s life is perfect. That is, at least to her thousands of followers who have helped her become an internet starlet. But when she breaks down and posts a video confessing she’s been living a lie—that she isn’t the happy, in-love, inspirational online personality she’s been trying so hard to portray—it goes viral and she receives major backlash. To get away from it all, she makes an impulsive decision: to hike the entire John Muir trail. Mari and her late cousin, Bri, were supposed to do it together, to celebrate their shared eighteenth birthday. But that was before Mari got so wrapped up in her online world that she shut anyone out who questioned its worth—like Bri.”

This is the perfect book to get lost in throughout the summer months! I loved reading this book and flew right through it. I might even reread it again this summer. This is a beautiful story about finding yourself, facing challenges, friendships, travelling and a lot more!

What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

39704614“Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?”

One thing I always gravitate toward reading throughout the summer months is a good romance book. This is just that. It is a perfect cute, romance story that will make you smile from ear to ear! This book is one I am going to devour again this summer. If you are looking for a fun, cute, romance then this book is for you!

Call it What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer

44427492“When his dad is caught embezzling funds from half the town, Rob goes from popular lacrosse player to social pariah. Even worse, his father’s failed suicide attempt leaves Rob and his mother responsible for his care.

Everyone thinks of Maegan as a typical overachiever, but she has a secret of her own after the pressure got to her last year. And when her sister comes home from college pregnant, keeping it from her parents might be more than she can handle.

When Rob and Maegan are paired together for a calculus project, they’re both reluctant to let anyone through the walls they’ve built.”

I finished this book very recently and I adored it! This book got me right in the mood to go on my holiday at the beginning of the month and I have been recommending it to a lot of people. This is the exact kind of book I think about when I am looking for books to read whilst on holiday. I love Brigid Kemmerer’s books and I cannot recommend this one enough!

  1. What if it’s us is on my TBR, I can’t wait to get around to it. I’ve seen Call it what you want around a bit recently and I’m very intrigued by it but not sure if it will be a little dark for me in places. A great list!
