YALC 2019 Book Haul!

haul

What would YALC weekend have been if I hadn’t of bought some books! Not only did I buy quite a lot of books throughout YALC weekend, I was also lucky enough to get ARCs of some of my most anticipated books!

I can’t believe it has been over a week since I was at YALC and it is safe to say I am having serious post-YALC-blues. I posted a recap of the YALC weekend the other day which you can find here. I thought I would separate the recap from my book haul, just so I could go into more detail with the haul! I came home from YALC with just over 20 books! Let’s get into the haul!

LineFRIDAY HAUL

Friday was the day I acquired the most books! I started out the day by going straight to the penguin stand and buying a book I have been looking at for a long time, Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies by Scarlett Curtis. Then because I had bought that from Penguin I was given an ARC of Frankly in Love by David Yoon! This is one of my most anticipated books of the year so I am extremely happy that I have that in my hands!

Next up, I picked up a copy of Every Colour of You by Amelia Mandeville. This is one I was hoping to pick up a paperback copy of after taking a hardback copy out of the library and really enjoying it. I got this one signed by Amelia on the Friday too.

When I was doing a big walk around of the YALC floor on the Friday morning my eyes fell upon a copy of Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. This is one that I have wanted to pick up since it was announced on the My Favorite Murder podcast a while ago. I cannot wait to read this one before I see them live in November.

Next up, I picked up Again, but Better by Christine Riccio, which is another book I have been excited about for a long time. When I bought that I got to pick a free ARC up from the same table so I picked up How to Build a Heart by Maria Padian. I am excited to give this one a go.

In the afternoon I picked up This Time Will Be Different by Misa Sugiura which I had almost picked up in Foyles the day before. Then I picked up Dead Popular by Sue Wallman which is one I have been excited about for a while!

Finally, I ended the Friday by winning the raffle for a copy of Wilder Girls by Rory Power. This is another of my most anticipated reads of the year and I cannot wait to give it a go!LineSATURDAY HAUL

Saturday started out with me being extremely lucky and getting a copy of the highly anticipated Infinity Son by Adam Silvera! Then I picked up a copy of It by Stephen King. I have been meaning to read this book for a long long while now so I am glad I finally have a copy.

Finally on Saturday I was gifted a copy of Inchtinn by Danny Weston which I am excited to give a go. Also I won a copy of Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart in a raffle! This is another I am extremely excited about and cannot wait to read on holiday!LineSUNDAY HAUL

Sunday started out with me buying a copy of When the Curtain Falls by Carrie Hope Fletcher. I own a paperback and a hardback of all her other books so when she was signing on Sunday it felt right to buy a paperback of her most recent book.

On Sunday afternoon I won a copy of The Sky is Mine by Amy Beashel which I had been wanting all weekend! Then I bought a copy of This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp which is a book I have been looking to buy for quite a long while now! When I bought this I got the choice of a free book/ARC, so I picked up Night Music by Jenn Marie Thorne.

When the sales began on Sunday afternoon I bought a few more books. I picked up Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett and Dear Martin by Nic Stone, two books I have been wanting to pick up for a long time! Then I picked up Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand. The weekend ended with me being given a copy of Full Disclosure by Camryn Garrett by the lovely people at Penguin! They saw how excited I was about this book throughout the weekend and made my weekend when they gave me a copy!LineOver the course of YALC weekend I got 21 books! I am quite proud of how reserved I was when it came to buying books this year. I only bought books I was certain I would read and only picked up ARCs of books I would be reading and love to review!

  1. I have been thinking of reading Sawkill Girls! It looks like something I would really enjoy. Also, I was thinking about reading It a couple years ago, when the movie came out. But I think I’m a bit intimidated by it. This is a great haul!
