I recently had the opportunity to attend the Resistance is Rising blogger event! This was a little blogger event for a few bloggers to meet the author of the brand new novel, The Harm Tree! The author being the lovely Rose Edwards! I wanted to write a little recap of the event! Here is that recap!
This event was actually a little big different than any other the other blogger events that I have attended in the past. First of all it wasn’t in a Waterstones, it was actually in one of my favourite little cafes in Manchester, Chapter One. This was a lovely venue for the event as it is small, quiet and just a lovely relaxing place to be. Second of all, this event was wonderfully informal and the bloggers decided where the conversations with Rose went.
We started out the event by introducing ourselves to Rose and the wonderful people from UCLan Publishing. We also all spoke about how we got into blogging which was a conversation I throughly enjoyed because even though some of the bloggers at the event are great friends of mine it is something we have never even talked about.
Rose talked to us about The Harm Tree, her writing process and how she went about getting the book out there in the world. I love hearing authors talk about how they write their books because everyone is so different and it is a great way to pick up other ways of writing.
One thing I really enjoyed about this event is that the publishers were really active in the conversations we were having. They joined in and even asked us about what as bloggers we would like to see from them as publishers. This made us all feel really valued and as though we make a big difference to the authors and publishers.
We ended the event with a book signing and by taking some pictures! Rose was so lovely and I adore what she wrote in my book. It is so lovely to meet such a down-to-earth wonderful author who is loving having a book out. Thank you so much Rose for this event we all throughly enjoyed it. A big thank you also go out to Debbie and Hazel from UCLan Publishing for organising this event for us bloggers, we loved it and hope you have more of them in the future!
Aw this looks like it was such a lovely event and I’m so sad to have missed it!

I agree, UCLan are excellent publishers, they’re so bloomin lovely. Rose is too, whenever I’ve met her I’ve ended up catching her contagious smile haha.
