22 Things To Do Whilst I’m 22!

22 things.png

In less than 2 weeks I turn 22. This got me thinking about what I want to do in the year that I will be 22. I did a very similar thing last year for the year I was 21 and I loved working towards the things on that list. So, I have come up with another bucket list king of thing all about things that I want to do and achieve in the year that I am 22. Some of these things are simple to achieve others not so much. I want to do the most I can within the year I am 22. Here are 22 things to do whilst I am 22!

Line1rana-sawalha-W_-6PWGbYaU-unsplash – Travel to more places within the UK

This is something I have been wanting to do for a number of years now. The UK is pretty big but I only seem to stick to visiting a few places across this country. This year I want to make an effort to travel to and visit more places within the UK. I would love to visit Bournemouth and Brighton, as well as places in Wales. I really want to travel more throughout the country and know more about the country I live in.

2 – Watch the sunrise and sunset from a local hill

This is another thing I have been wanting to do for quite a while now. It is by lucky chance that I sometimes catch the sunset on a local hill whilst on the way home from work. This year though I want to make an effort to go and watch the sunrise and sunset from a local hill and plan out when to do this. Watching the sun rise over where I live will be beautiful I’m sure and I would love to finally see it.

They don’t know it yet but I would like to go on a road trip this year with a group of my best friends. There are some bookshops down south that I know we would all like to visit which I think is the perfect excuse to go on a full road trip! So, this year I am going to make an effort to plan and go on a road trip with my best friends.

4 – Get better at graphic design

This was on my list for my 21st year but I wanted to include it on this year’s list too. The reason for this is that I didn’t have much time to do graphic designing last year but this year I am going to properly put aside time to take out my graphics tablet and practise my designing. Hopefully by the time I am 23 I will be a lot better at my designing.

IMG-20190727-WA0007.jpg5 – Attend YALC 2020 with my best friends

I want to attend YALC once again in 2020 and I want to do it with my book besties! We did just that in 2019 and I cannot wait to do it all over again in 2020. You bet we are already planning this and I cannot wait to spend another fabulous weekend with my book besties, surrounded my books!

6 – Finally own a bookshelf!

For those of you who don’t know, I don’t own a single bookshelf! I do own a TBR cart but all my books currently live under my bed in boxes or in my wardrobe. I would love this year to finally own at least one bookshelf and to be able to display my books in a very pretty way.

7 – Make progress on getting a house with David

David and I have been together for 4 and a half years now and we are certainly ready to own our own house together. We have looked after houses for many months and know that we will be very happy living together. So, this year I want us to make progress on finally getting our own home. Let’s see how this goes!

8 – Rescue an animal

This one might be difficult. A few years ago I rescued a baby hedgehog and it has made a huge effect on my life. I would love to have the opportunity to rescue another animal. If this doesn’t happen in my 22nd year that doesn’t matter, but I would love to do it.

I have wanted to this for a long time. I want to go or book to go to the Harry Potter Studios around Christmas time. I want to see Hogwarts in the snow! I loved going for my 18th birthday and want to go back, take as many pictures as possible and see what is new at the studios. I feel like this will be something that happens when I am 23 but I will certainly plan and book whilst I am 22.

10 – Visit more libraries

Now that I am a librarian I would love to visit more libraries this year. I would love to see how other libraries work and what they have to offer in comparison to the library I work in. I would also love to visit other libraries to get inspiration for displays. This is something I struggle with at the minute so seeing other displays in other libraries is sure to inspire me.

11- Visit more bookshops

This is another thing I want to do because of my love of reading. I love visiting bookshops and this year I want to make an effort to visit as many as possible. If I am in a new city or town I am going to make an effort to find a bookshop there and have a wander around the shop!

12 – Save money for every book I read in the year

I am already doing this currently, but I plan on doing it again. I am thinking of maybe upping the money I put aside for each book I read too. Currently I am putting aside £5 for every book I read, and this has meant that I have saved up enough money for me and Mum to go on holiday together. I want to do this again so that my Mum and I can go on another holiday together in the future.

13 – Start a good blog planner and stick to in

Over the past year I have had several planners and none of them last over 3 months. This year I want to finally get a good planner for planning my blogging and stick to it for the entire year. I love being organised but I want it to finally be in one place rather than several.

14 – Go on as many days out with David as possible

I don’t get full weekends off anymore. I have alternate weekends off and a Thursday off every other week. Due to this me and David don’t get as much time together as we used to. So, this year I want to spend more time with David on days out. This could be just going out for a hot drink and cake, going to the park, going shopping or even just going on a drive. I just want to spend as much time as possible with David.

15 – Rekindle my love for swimming

I have loved going swimming ever since I was aged 2. I used to have swimming lessons and I was part of a swimming team and swam for fun. When I turned 16 I just stopped swimming. I only ever swim now whilst I am on holiday and even then it is normal a couple quick lengths of a small pool. I was meant to do this last year but never got around to doing it. So, this year I want to sign up at a swimming pool and go swimming at least once a week. It will help rekindle my love for a hobby I have had all my life whilst keeping me active.

IMG_20190316_21465916 – Go to as many concerts and shows as I can

I adore going to concerts and shows and every single year I try to save money up specifically for them. There are a lot of bands and shows that I would love to see again as well as ones I have never seen before. I am going to try my best to go to as many of them as possible. Concerts fill me with so much joy and are always a different experience depending on the band or the show. I hope to go to as many as possible this year.

17 – Reread my childhood favourite books

When I was younger, there were so many books that meant the world to me. I haven’t reread these books for a long time. This year I want to try my hardest to reread a selection of my favourite childhood books and see what I think of them now.

18 – Take make pictures

I have been meaning to do this for such a long-time and I am finally going to put the effort into doing this. I am going to try my best this year to take as many pictures as possible. Have the best ones printed out and put them into photo albums and scrapbooks. So that I can look back on them years down the line.

Screenshot 2019-08-22 at 15.07.2319 – Spend more time with family

Due to work schedules and just very busy schedules across the board, me and my family don’t get too much time to spend together on days out. This year I would love to spend more time on days out with my family and go to places we have never been before.

20 – Plan another Disney trip

I have a saying that I made up for myself, you should never go anywhere without having another disney trip booked. So, this year I really want to get another Disney trip booked, even if it is just for a quick weekend at Disneyland Paris or a couple of weeks at Walt Disney World in Florida. All I know is that I want to go on another Disney trip very soon.

21 –  Learn to cook more

I am still not a very good cook! I can cook a few more things than last year but I can’t cook as much as I would like. This year I am going to learn to cook more meals. I want to learn how to cook a number of different things other than mashed potatoes and an omelette!

22 – Have fun!

Finally, I want to have a fun year being 22. I want to do as much as I can and enjoy what I am doing. Bring on being 22!

LineThere you have it, 22 things I want to do whilst I’m 22! What do you want to do in the next year? Let me know in the comments below!
