YA Events at the Library

I am so excited to finally be able to share with you some of the exciting events that I will be hosting at the library I work at (Burnley Central Library!). I’ve been discussing with my colleagues and managers since I started working at the library about the possibility of starting a Young Adult Book Club and Film Club. These are finally happening! This is something I have wanted to start for such a long time now and I can’t believe I am finally doing it.

For the first meeting of the Young Adult Book Club we are going to be discussing what we last read, what our favourite books of 2019 were and what we are most excited about reading in 2020. As this is the first meeting I thought it would be nice just to have a general discussion before picking the book for next month’s book club.

After the first meeting we will be picking between 3 books to read for the next month’s book club and then each meeting will be monthly!

Our first meeting is at Burnley Central Library on Saturday 18th January 2020 at 2pm. I cannot wait for this event and hope you can come along!

Young Adult Film Club

Something I love almost as much as books is films!

The other YA event that the library will be hosting is the Young Adult film club! This will be another monthly event where we will be showing some of the latest films completely free of charge. As the months go on, this film club will be showing some YA books to films and linking up with the book club, something I feel will be a lot of fun!

The first meeting of the Young Adult Film Club will be on Saturday 1st February 2020 at 2pm and we will be showing Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse! I cannot wait to watch this film and hope you can come along to this!

Just a little recap, both of these events will be running at Burnley Central Library and will both be completely free of charge!
