A couple of weeks ago my Mum went on a little week away with her friends to New York. As you can imagine I was incredibly envious of her but she was the absolute best and got me a few books that have been on my wishlist for a little while. I didn’t include these in my last book haul but wanted to talk about them. So, here is a little New York book haul courtesy of my Mum!
Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers
“When “Perfect” Parker Fadley starts drinking at school and failing her classes, all of St. Peter’s High goes on alert. How has the cheerleading captain, girlfriend of the most popular guy in school, consummate teacher’s pet, and future valedictorian fallen so far from grace?
Parker doesn’t want to talk about it. She’d just like to be left alone, to disappear, to be ignored. But her parents have placed her on suicide watch and her conselors are demanding the truth. Worse, there’s a nice guy falling in love with her and he’s making her feel things again when she’d really rather not be feeling anything at all.”
After reading Sadie by Courtney Summers last year and absolutely loving it and flying right the way through it, as soon as she announced this it was on my wishlist. I am so glad that my Mum managed to find a copy of it for me and I cannot wait to read it!
The Gravity of Us by Phil Stamper
“As a successful social media journalist with half a million followers, seventeen-year-old Cal is used to sharing his life online. But when his pilot father is selected for a highly publicized NASA mission to Mars, Cal and his family relocate from Brooklyn to Houston and are thrust into a media circus.
Amidst the chaos, Cal meets sensitive and mysterious Leon, another “Astrokid,” and finds himself falling head over heels—fast. As the frenzy around the mission grows, so does their connection. But when secrets about the program are uncovered, Cal must find a way to reveal the truth without hurting the people who have become most important to him.”
Of course this book was on my wish list! A gay space book what more could I have asked for. I have been excited about reading this one for a long time and because this isn’t actually out in the UK until May my Mum picked this one up because I was so excited to read it!
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling (American Hardback)
This one is pretty self explanatory but I started a Harry Potter American hardback collection a few years ago and every time someone I know goes to America and is near a book shop I ask them to pick up the next one I need. This time it is Prisoner of Azkaban’s turn and it is beautiful! I love collecting this set!
Thank you so much to my Mum for being wonderful and picking these up for me. I cannot wait to read them! Have you read any of these, if so what did you think? Let me know in the comments!

I love how you are slowly collecting the hardcover US versions of the Harry Potter series! It is like a little memory from each of yours or your friend’s trips!

That is exactly my plan! Each one of them is from somewhere different in the US and everyone in my family knows I’m collecting them so they buy them me as a treat!
