Hello all! I hope you are all well! For those of you that don’t know, a couple of months ago I started a Young Adult Book Club at Burnley Central Library! We meet every 4 weeks and at our last meeting we picked the book for the April meeting! Here is a little information about the next meeting and the book we have chosen!
Young Adult Book Club!
Next Meeting: Saturday 11th April
Where: Burnley Central Library, Grimshaw St, Burnley BB11 2BD
When: 2pm
Book of the Month: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins!
“Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don’t live to see the morning?
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before – and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.”
I’m so glad we picked this next month’s meeting, with the prequel coming out soon I wanted to re-read it soon and I will be doing just that!
I cannot wait to talk about this book! Come along to discuss your thoughts on the book. As well as your thoughts on what you have been reading recently.
Come along to talk about books, what you have been reading and are excited to read and meet like-minded people!
I need to still reread this series before May! I want to be ready for the release of the prequel, which I am so thrilled about.
