August has been a non-stop busy month for me and it has flown by. I've been to the cinema, had a few days out, a quick weekend away and started some more decoration on my house. Here is what happened in August!
The monsters have known each other their whole lives. This is their final summer before college - time to hang out, fall in love and dream about the future. Until they accidentally start a forest fire which destroys their hometown and leaves death in its wake. Desperate for the truth to remain hidden, the group make a pact of silence. But the twisted secret begins to spin out of control and when one of the friends disappears they all become suspects. We know how it starts but where does it end?
August has been long but it is has been a very busy month and I have read a lot of books. Throughout August, I have read a total of 14 books, which is incredible for me. So, I am back with another what I’ve read this month post! I have some thoughts that I wanted to share on the books I read throughout August. Here is a bunch of mini reviews for the books I read in August!
I have killed several people (some brutally, others calmly) and yet I currently languish in jail for a murder I did not commit. When I think about what I actually did, I feel somewhat sad that nobody will ever know about the complex operation that I undertook. Getting away with it is highly preferable, of course, but perhaps when I’m long gone, someone will open an old safe and find this confession. The public would reel. After all, almost nobody else in the world can possibly understand how someone, by the tender age of 28, can have calmly killed six members of her family. And then happily got on with the rest of her life, never to regret a thing.
Subject: You. Missing. Ezra Ahern wakes up one day to find his older sister, Bea, gone. No note, no sign, nothing but an email address hidden somewhere only he would find it. Ezra never expected to be left behind with their abusive stepfather and their neglectful mother - how is he supposed to navigate life without Bea? Bea Ahern already knew she needed to get as far away from home as possible. But a message in her inbox changes everything, and she finds herself alone in a new city - without Ez, without a real plan - chasing someone who might not even want to be found. As things unravel at home for Ezra, Bea confronts secrets about their past that will forever change the way they think about their family. Together and apart, broken by abuse but connected by love, this brother and sister must learn to trust themselves before they can find a way back to each other.
to do what I normally do with a book I enjoy which is pick a quote from it and get designing. So, that is exactly what I did!
I love sharing what is new on my Netgalley TBR each month. I love talking about the books I'm excited for and it makes me even more excited to read them. There have been so many incredible books on my Netgalley shelf over the years and it is a place that I've found so many new authors. Here is what's new on my Netgalley shelf / TBR!
When Nozomi Nagai pictured the ideal summer romance, a fake one wasn’t what she had in mind. That was before she met the perfect girl. Willow is gorgeous, glamorous, and…heartbroken? And when she enlists Nozomi to pose as her new girlfriend to make her ex jealous, Nozomi is a willing volunteer. Because Nozomi has a master plan of her own: one to show Willow she’s better than a stand-in, and turn their fauxmance into something real. But as the lies pile up, it’s not long before Nozomi’s schemes take a turn toward disaster…and maybe a chance at love she didn’t plan for.
Another month is nearly here, which means only one thing, more new releases to add to my TBR! I am always adding new books to my TBR because I adore finding new stories out there in the world. New stories means new adventures and what more can you want! There are so many new books coming out in September and I cannot wait to share them with you. Here are the new book releases I’m excited for in September!
I cannot quite believe it, but I have been blogging for 5 whole years! I have loved every single second of being a blogger, meeting so many people thanks to blogging and all the opportunities that have arisen because of my blogging. I can't thank everyone who has followed me over the years for their support, I appreciate it so much. I started this blog with no expectations and I cannot believe where it has come. I cannot wait to see what the next year holds!
