What’s On My Netgalley TBR?

I’ve done it again and managed to allow my Netgalley TBR to creep up into double figures. I couldn’t stop myself from requesting a few books I’ve had my eyes on for a while. I started writing these posts each month to help me to see my TBR and hold me accountable when I haven’t read them on time. Here are some of the books that are currently on my Netgalley shelf / TBR!

Happy Place by Emily Henry

Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple – they go together like bread and butter, gin and tonic, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Except, now they don’t.

They broke up six months ago. And they still haven’t told anyone.

Which is how they end up sharing a bedroom at the cottage that has been their yearly getaway with their best friends for the past decade. For one glorious week they leave behind their lives, drink far too much wine and soak up the sea air with their favourite people.

Only this year, Harriet and Wyn are lying through their teeth. The cottage is for sale so this is the last time they’ll all be together here and they can’t bear to break their friends’ hearts. So, they’ll fake it for one more week.

You can imagine my excitement when the link to download this appeared in my emails last week. I cannot wait to read this one because not only does it sound incredible but I have loved Emily Henry’s books so far. I will be picking this one up very soon and cannot wait to share my thoughts!

Love in Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello

Trey Anderson is popular and handsome, and he works at his family’s beloved Black-owned bookshop, Wonderland. Ariel Spencer is quirky, creative, and in need of a holiday temp job to cover her tuition for The Artists’ Studio. An opening at Wonderland is the answer . . . and the start of a hate-to-love journey for Trey and Ariel. When Trey and Ariel learn that Wonderland is on the brink of shutting down, can they get over their differences and team up to stop the doors from closing before the Christmas Eve deadline?

I’m starting to get excited about reading some Christmas themed books this year. So, when this one came up to request, I did it immediately. This one sounds like it will be the perfect winter read and I cannot wait to start reading this to get in the Christmas spirit.

Lord of the Fly Fest by Goldy Moldavsky

Rafi Francisco needs something really special to put her true crime podcast on the map. She sets her sights on River Stone, the hearthrob musician who rose to stardom after the mysterious disappearance of his girlfriend. Rafi lands herself a ticket to the exclusive Fly Fest, where River will be the headliner.

But when Rafi arrives on the Caribbean island location of Fly Fest with hundreds of other influencers and (very minor) celebrities, they quickly discover that the dream trip is more of a nightmare. And it’s not just confronting beauty gurus-gone-wild and spotty WiFi. Soon, Rafi goes from fighting for an interview to fighting for her life. And, as she gets closer to River, she discovers that he might be hiding even darker secrets than she suspected . . .

I’ve been intrigued by this book since I first saw it online. It seems like it is a book that will grip you from the first page and I cannot wait. It sounds like quite a unique concept for a book too that plays on the classic Lord of the Flies. I’m looking forward to reading this soon!

Friends Like These by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez

Tegan Sheffield’s annual end-of-summer beach party is the only way to start their senior year. At least that’s what Jake Healy tells his girlfriend Jessica Sanchez.

But when a video prank from the party goes viral and a body is discovered at the beach, Jake and Jessica find themselves at the centre of a national media storm and a police investigation.

It’s a race to uncover the truth before the killer strikes again.

I’m reading this one at the moment and I am loving it. It is one of those books that you can’t put down and think about when you do have to put it down. I loved the last book I read by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez so this one seems like it is going to be the same. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on it very soon!

There you have it, some of the things that are on my Netgalley shelf/TBR at the minute! What have you got on your Netgalley shelf and what are you excited to read? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Reading
