I’ve been watching a lot of book adaptations recently and loving so many of them. So, it got me thinking about if there was a book tag based on book adaptations out there and there is! I found this one on Book Loving Nut and I’m excited to do this one. Here is the book adaptations tag
What is the last book adaptation you saw?
I’ve just finished watching YOU season 4 and I loved it. It is one of my favourite book adaptations there is out there at the moment. I would highly recommend giving it a watch if you haven’t already!
What book adaptation are you most excited for?
Daisy Jones & the Six! I’m up-to-date with the episodes at the moment and I cannot wait to watch the next set of episodes. It is such a spectacular adaptation and is one I would highly recommend.
Which upcoming book adaptation will you NOT watch?
I’d have to say Six of Crows. The book has never interested me and the adaptation doesn’t either. I know it is meant to be incredible, but it doesn’t seem like I would enjoy it.
Which book adaptation would you NEVER watch again?
The Girl on the Train. I disliked the book and gave the film a try to see if it would change my mind. It didn’t and I disliked it just as much.
Is there an adaptation you watched that made you want to read the book, if you already hadn’t?
Yes! Normal People was a book I hadn’t read before watching the adaptation. I read the book as soon as I finished the series and I loved it just as much.
Do you prefer to read the book first or watch the adaptation first?
Definitely read the book first where possible! I’ll even delay watching something if I haven’t read the book just yet.
How do you feel about book adaptations that age up characters?
Sometimes this works and other times it doesn’t. So, I would say it depends on the book itself. I’d prefer if they stuck to the book age though.
Do you get upset when the actors don’t look as you imagined the characters looked?
Not particularly. It does sometimes change how I think about a character though.
Is there a book adaptation you liked better than its book?
The Lord of the Rings! I adore the adaptations so much and prefer them over the books.
Name a book that you’d love to see adapted?
The Loneliest Girl in the Universe is one that I think would make an extraordinary adaptation. I’d love to see it!
