Summer is starting to come to an end, even though we are currently experiencing a heatwave in England… So, I wanted to give the ‘end of summer book tag’ a go. I saw this over on Reading Through Infinity a couple of years ago and have been meaning to do it ever since. Here is the end of summer book tag!

Are there any books you have started this year that you need to finish?
The are two books that I really need to finish before the end of the year which I started right back at the start of 2023. They are Begin Again by Emma Lord and Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. Both of these I was enjoying when I started them but just put them down and didn’t pick them back up again. I want to finish them soon.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
I think I’m going to read The Brothers Hawthorne by Jennifer Lynn Barnes to transition into the autumn season. I am so excited to read this book as it has been one of my most anticipated book releases of year.
Is there a new release you are still waiting for?
There are quite a few actually. They are Every Exquisite Thing by Laura Steven which is out on the 14th September, Betting on You by Lynn Painter which is out on the 23rd November and Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood by Beth Reekles which is out on the 9th November. I’m excited to read all of these.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
I’d like to read Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison, Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Kawaguchi and Kiss the Girl by Zoraida Córdova. I’m hoping to read all of these very soon!

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?
I’m sure there could be. I’m a massive mood reader so I’m not sure what the rest of my reads for 2023 could be and any of them could end up being my favourite.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2024?
I’ve made a few pre-orders for 2024 but no specific plans have been made just yet. I’m just excited for more books!

There you have it, the end of summer book tag! What books do you want to read before the end of the year? Let me know in the comments below!
