Thank you so much to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Farley Jones is a loud, chaotic, and hilariously clever standup comedian on the way to stardom. The only thing she loves more than the rush of telling jokes in front of a revved-up audience is her hot older manager Meyer, though he doesn’t have a clue. Keeping her feelings hidden from him is agony (a tragedy, even―in lieu of flowers, please send cash…) but Meyer has been Farley’s closest and most treasured friend, not to mention vital to the trajectory of her career. She can’t risk ruining their relationship by telling him how she truly feels. After all, who else would have the patience to put up with a hot mess like her?

A former standup star himself, single father Meyer Harrigan left the stage years ago in order to focus on raising his deaf daughter Hazel. Farley has been everything to them since she came into their lives three years ago, and despite his grumpiness, his protectiveness over Hazel, and his disdain for public attention, Meyer will do anything to make her standup dreams come true.

When the biggest opportunity of Farley’s career comes along and forces the pair to fake-date in order to stir up publicity, it doesn’t take long for their act to bring all those other funny feelings out into the open. Like most matters of the heart, it quickly begins to feel like anything but a joke.

If you are looking for a book with friends to lovers, fake dating, dual POV, grumpy x sunshine and so much more then I think Funny Feelings might be the book for you.

I had seen a lot about this book online before picking it up myself. I was a little worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations but it most certainly did and I loved it!

Farley Jones is being forced to date Meyer Harrigan, to make all of her stand-up dreams come true. Meyer and his daughter Hazel have been everything to Farley since they came into her life three years ago, So, stakes are high when it is not only her career, but both of those relationships on the line. Whilst Meyer helps Farley their barriers come down and feelings start coming out into the open where it starts to feel like anything but a joke.

I loved both Farley and Meyer! They are both extremely relatable, authentic and realistic. Farley is hilarious, fun and endearing and makes for an excellent main character. She may seem perfect on the outside but there is also a lot going on beneath her funny exterior. We see Farley struggle with self-acceptance, anxiety, self-doubt and other issues which makes her even more relatable.

Meyer is a grumpy ex-comedian who is extremely caring to those around him. The way we see him care for Farley and his daughter, Hazel is so lovely and made him even more endearing. Meyer also goes on a journey of self-discovery throughout the book which I enjoyed reading.

I loved seeing how much Farley and Meyer care for each other and look to each other for support, comfort and love. Their romance is amazing but at the heart of it all the friendship is truly beautiful. The humour between them both adds another element to their relationship which I loved.

I enjoyed that this book was dual POV as it allowed us to see things from both Meyer and Farley’s perspectives. I’m always a fan of this as I feel it allows us as readers to learn more about the characters in a book and their thoughts.

Also, I enjoyed the then and now chapters in this book as we got a look at their relationship both now and when they first met, which again I feel added more depth to the story.

Tarah DeWitt is now an author whose books I will be reading more of in the future. She has written a beautiful romance book that is light-hearted in parts but also discusses the important topics of mental health and discovering yourself. She is certainly an author now on my radar.

Overall, Funny Feelings had everything I wanted in a romance book. It has hilarious moments, adorable romance and so many tropes I love alongside discussions of important topics. I would highly recommend this one!
