20 Questions Book Tag!

Book Tag

I love looking back on posts I’ve done over the years. The other day I was looking at the 20 questions book tag which I did back in 2020. It got me thinking about if I was to give it another go how much my answers would have changed. So, I wanted to give it another try. Here is take two of the 20 Questions book tag!

My answer for this one hasn’t changed that much. I still think that any series that go over three books is way too much. I’ve picked up more series since 2020 but they are either trilogies or duologies.

I’m a fan of cliffhangers. If it is at the end of a chapter, it is more than likely to keep you hooked. Then, if it is at the end of a book I’m likely to pick up the next book. Or, if it there isn’t going to be another book I like thinking about what could happen next.

I much prefer paperbacks as they are lot easier to read. But, I will pick up a hardback if it is of a very anticipated read of mine.

This has certainly changed from four years ago. My current favourite books are The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid and Happy Place by Emily Henry.

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover for so many reasons that I won’t go into.

I am no longer a love triangle fan. I don’t think they work most of the time and I tend to avoid books with them in. Years ago, they were something I didn’t mind too much but not anymore.

I can’t remember the last book I didn’t finish. I have trouble DNFing books because I feel like I’ve read halfway through it, I may as well finish it off.

I am currently reading At First Spite by Olivia Dade and I’m enjoying it. I’m not too far of finishing it and I’m looking forward to seeing how it will come to an end.

It would be One Day by David Nicholls which I recommended to my Mum the other day. I gave her my copy to read when I saw her yesterday. So, I’m hoping she reads it soon and enjoys it as much as I did.

I’m going to have to say 1984 by George Orwell. I read that last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, a lot more than I thought I would.

That would have to be Where Sleeping Girls Lie by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé which is out on the 14th March. It is an amazing book that I was lucky enough to read an early copy of. I’ll be posting my review of it very soon.

There are so many authors that I love and I would class as some of my favourites. So, I am going to list my top 5 which are:

  • Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • Emily Henry
  • Fredrik Backman
  • Christina Lauren
  • Abby Jimenez

Both! As much as I tend to buy books, I do borrow a lot of them from the library. I work in the library service so I’m surrounding by books on a daily basis and always see the new arrivals. Plus, borrowing from your local library is free!

I’d say Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey which was a huge disappointment for me.

Bookmarks! I have so many of them and the idea of dog-earring a book scares me.

I often re-read the entirety of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series by Jenny Han. But, I can also re-read any of Taylor Jenkins Reid books too. It brings me so much joy to re-read some of my favourite books and series. Sometimes re-reading books gets me out of a reading slump too!

I tend to listen to music whilst reading as it helps to keep my focus on reading and stop myself from picking up my phone and scrolling social media. I often have the TV on in the background too. If it is completely silent I can’t concentrate.

I tend to gravitate towards multiple POV books because I love having more insight into the different characters in the book. But, I don’t mind at all if it is only one POV.

I would love to do both but with how busy I am at the moment, I tend to read books in a few sittings. If I do happen to get the time and a book is particularly gripping I will read it in one sitting but it isn’t often.

Anyone who wants to give this a go!

It was so much fun to give this tag another go. My answers have changed quite a bit since I last gave this a go. What would you answers to these questions be? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Reading
