August Book Haul

Book HaulHere I am once again with another book haul, this time with all the books I bought in August! I didn’t buy anywhere near as many books as normal throughout august because I put myself on a mild book buying ban after buying so many books at YALC. There is still a haul for this month though! A couple of books I am going to mention in this haul were gifted to me by publishers, this will be mentioned in brackets next to the books. Here is my August book haul!

On the very first day in August I went to Manchester for the evening to attend my lovely best friends Sarah and Sophie of The Little Contemporary Corner’s LGBTQ+ book club. Even though we had been back from YALC less than a week we couldn’t resist a look in Waterstones. I had managed to get Β£10 credit on my Waterstones card over YALC weekend and I wanted to treat myself. So, I picked up Call it What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer and Meet Cute, the Anthology by various authors. Both of these books are ones I have been looking at for a long time and I am glad I treated myself to these!

Right in the middle of August I got a surprise package from the lovely people at BKMRK who sent me a lovely package with a 20th anniversary edition and the graphic novel adaptation of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (gifted). I have been wanting to read this book for such a long time but have never got round to it. I will certainly be reading both of these and as soon as I can!

Towards the end of the month my library copy of A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer was due to be returned. So, what could I do but buy myself my own copy. I have read just a section of this book but I really enjoyed what I read so I was very happy to finally buy myself a copy.

When this post goes live I will be in Sicily with my boyfriend and his family and I am hoping to have visited a bookshop over there! So I may have bought a couple more books right at the end of August but I will include these, if there are any in my September book haul!

What books did you buy in August and what books are you excited for in September? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Reading
