What I Read on Holiday!

Holliday

Hello! I have been back from Sicily for a few days and wanted to do a little reading recap from my holiday. It is safe to say I was very ambitious with the amount of books I thought I would get read on this holiday. I had 5 books in total on my holiday TBR but took a total of 7 books with me. I read 2 and a half of the books on TBR so I am quite happy with the amount I read overall. Here is what I read on holiday!LineFrankly in Love by David Yoon

“High school senior Frank Li is a Limbo–his term for Korean-American kids who find themselves caught between their parents’ traditional expectations and their own Southern California upbringing. His parents have one rule when it comes to romance–“Date Korean”–which proves complicated when Frank falls for Brit Means, who is smart, beautiful–and white. Fellow Limbo Joy Song is in a similar predicament, and so they make a pact: they’ll pretend to date each other in order to gain their freedom. Frank thinks it’s the perfect plan, but in the end, Frank and Joy’s fake-dating manoeuvre leaves him wondering if he ever really understood love–or himself–at all.”

This is one that I started a day or two before we went on holiday but finished whilst we were there. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could very happily reread it in the future. All I will say for now is you need to pick this book up when it is out on the 12th and read it immediately! I will be posting a full review of this one later on in September!

“Simone Garcia-Hampton is starting over at a new school, and this time things will be different. She’s making real friends, making a name for herself as student director of Rent, and making a play for Miles, the guy who makes her melt every time he walks into a room. The last thing she wants is for word to get out that she’s HIV-positive, because last time . . . well, last time things got ugly.”

This is the book that was on my TBR that I was most excited about reading whilst I was on holiday. I was right to be so excited about this book because it is absolutely incredible! Once I had started it I just couldn’t put it down. Simone is a captivating main character with a extraordinary story. I cannot wait for this one to be out in the world and read other people’s thoughts. For now know it is incredible and my full review will be out nearer release day!

Wilder Girls by Rory Power

“It’s been eighteen months since the Raxter School for Girls was put under quarantine. Since the Tox hit and pulled Hetty’s life out from under her.

It started slow. First the teachers died one by one. Then it began to infect the students, turning their bodies strange and foreign. Now, cut off from the rest of the world and left to fend for themselves on their island home, the girls don’t dare wander outside the school’s fence, where the Tox has made the woods wild and dangerous. They wait for the cure they were promised as the Tox seeps into everything.

But when Byatt goes missing, Hetty will do anything to find her, even if it means breaking quarantine and braving the horrors that lie beyond the fence. And when she does, Hetty learns that there’s more to their story, to their life at Raxter, than she could have ever thought true.”

I am yet to finish this one but I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. It’s storyline is very unique so far and it definitely has me gripped. I am hoping to finish it very soon and when I do I will share my full thoughts!LineThere you have it, that is all the books I read whilst on holiday in Sicily. I have had such a lovely time and am so glad I got to read so many incredible books!

Happy Reading
