A (Late) New Years Book Tag!

Book Tag

Hello hello hello! Now I am here today with a new years book tag. A very late new years book tag but a book tag non the less. I was tagged by Charlotte from Wonderfully Bookish a while back in this New Years Book Tag and I thought it would be fun to do it today!Line1 – Do you do the Goodreads challenge? If so what is your goal for 2020?

I always do the Goodreads challenge every single year and this year is no different. My goal for this year is 30 books which is quite low for me. The plan is to increase this as the year goes on but for now I didn’t want to push myself and felt 30 books was achievable.

2 – What are some other reading goals/challenges you’re setting yourself?

This year I am planning on broadening the genres that I read. I want to read a couple of classics as well as just some general fiction, rather than just my standard YA books.

3 – What is a reading habit you want to leave in 2019 and one you want to carry forward into 2020?

I want to leave the habit of just sitting down with a book and not actually reading it in 2019. I did that a lot. I used to take my book to my chair with me and it would just sit on my knee whilst I watched TV for a couple of hours.

A goal I want to carry forward into 2020 is reading before I go to bed. I want to read for at least 30 minutes before I go to sleep to help me relax and get some good reading time in.

4 – Do you use any other method of tracking your reading other than Goodreads?

Not particularly but I do post pictures on Twitter and Instagram along with star reviews when I finish a book!

5 – Did you get any books for the holidays you want to prioritise in the New Year?

Surprisingly this year I didn’t get a single book!

6 – What will be/was your first read of the New Year and how did you decide?

It was Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K Rowling! I chose this because this year I want to make an effort of re-reading the entire series. I am currently re-reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, so I am about halfway through re-reading them all!

7 – Are there any series you want to continue or finish this year?

I don’t really read a lot of series but this year I want to finally get round to reading the Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson series because I’ve heard so many amazing things about it.

8 – Whose content are you most excited to watch/ read going into this year?

I would have to say Wonderfully BookishThe Little Contemporary Corner and Travels in Fiction. I love watching the videos and reading all the posts that these wonderful girls put out into the world and I cannot wait to see what they do this year!

9 – Are there any readathons you’re anticipating/want to participate in?

I am currently as I am writing this, taking part in the Groundhog Day Readathon that Travels in Fiction and Caffeine and Commas are running. This will have finished by the time this post is live but I am participating that. I am also hoping to set up a readathon with a few of my blogging pals in 2020!

10 – What 2020 debut novels are you looking forward to?

So many, but the first one that springs to mind is Wranglestone by Darren Charlton. I am reading it as we speak and I am loving it so far!LineThere you have it, my (late) New Years Book tag! I’m not going to tag anyone in this because I am so late posting this myself. I have had a lot of fun doing this book tag though. What are your goals for 2020? Let me know in the comments below!Happy Reading
