September Book Haul

Book Haul

What should be happening with this post is it should be empty because I am on a book buying ban. But, what is actually happening with this post is there is a book haul of 7 books in total. Clearly, I am very good at staying on a book buying ban but we won’t talk about that. Granted, a book I had on pre-order, I bought a couple based on wonderful reviews and I was also gifted a few books! I will highlight next to books that were gifted. So, here is my September book haul!

September started out with some wonderful book mail from a wonderful publisher. This book mail was You Say it First by Katie Cotugno (gifted). I read this almost immediately and really enjoyed it, you can find my full review of it here.

A few days after getting the book mail I stepped foot in a bookshop. This is never a good idea when on a book buying ban. So, of course I bought a couple of books. I bought I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara ahead of the Crime Readathon I am hosting alongside The Little Contemporary Corner (be sure to join in, it is going to be a lot of fun!). Also, I bought One Day by David Nicholls which I have been meaning to read for way too long now! I cannot wait to see what I think of both of these.

The lovely Charlie over at Little Tiger / Stripes wanted to support us during the Crime Readathon so sent me copies of Agent Zaiba Investigates: The Missing Diamonds by Annabelle Sami (gifted) and Agent Zaiba Investigates: The Poison Plot by Annabelle Sami (gifted). These will definitely be on my TBR throughout the readathon and I cannot wait to give them a read.

I had one pre-order arrive this month and that was Into the Spotlight by Carrie Hope Fletcher. I will always buy anything that Carrie writes and I am so excited that this one is a children’s book! The last book I got this month was The Bi-ble Volume 1! I bought this after Jaz from Travels in Fiction and Sophie from The Little Contemporary Corner hosted a Insta live on bi-visibility day in which they discussed this book. They talked about it so highly that I just had to buy a copy! I’m going to be reading it very soon.

Overall, I ended the month with 7 more physical books than I started which is definitely a lot more than I thought. It is my birthday this week, so, my book buying ban is on a hold for this week and then back on for the end of the month!

  1. I haven’t actually read any of these so can’t comment on them like that but oh my gosh it’s always when you’re on a ban that you find a whole load of books to read!
