The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag!

I wanted to do a post today that I haven’t done for nearly 4 years. I thought as there are probably quite a few people on here that are new or do not know much about me, I wanted to do this tag. It is the secret life of a book blogger tag! Here it is!

How long have you been a blogger?

I have been blogging for almost 5 years now and I cannot believe it. I started blogging after feeling very lost in college and having no friends who read books. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made because I have become part of community and found the bestest friends that I possibly could do. I’m so glad I started blogging all that time ago.

At what point do you think you will stop?

I have no idea. I love doing it and it really helps me to get my thoughts down about books, life and so much more. If the enjoyment ever goes then I may stop but that isn’t happening any time soon.

What is the best thing?

The people that blogging has brought into my life. I’ve made incredible best friends thanks to starting my blog. The wonderful Sarah and Sophie who I would do anything for and I know I can count on them with anything. Others include Charlotte and Jaz who are also incredible. It is so lovely to have a group of friends thanks to blogging. A group of friends who I know will be with me for life!

What is the worst thing?

Being in a reading slump. I am currently in a reading slump despite having so many books on my TBR which I am excited about. I want to read and read and read and share my thoughts with everyone. But, when you are in reading slump sometimes that just isn’t possible.

How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

I take pictures in bulk when there is a nice sunny day and I have a present editing setting that I use on them all. I love taking my own pictures whenever I can, I feel it really adds to the blog posts.

Who’s your book crush?

Peter Kavinsky from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I am not just saying that because Noah Centineo is the film version of Peter. I’ve had a crush on Peter ever since the book and the film version just enhances the crush.

Which author would you like to have on your blog?

I would love more than anything to have Jenny Han, Nicola Yoon or Jennifer Niven on my blog. Those authors are the ones who really got me back into reading and I think having them on my blog would be beyond incredible. Even if that never happens though I’ve interviewed so many incredible authors and I feel lucky about that every single day.

What do you wear when you write your blog?

I wear whatever I want. It all depends when and where I am writing. I’m currently sat in my comfy clothes writing this one but I could write them at the end of the day in my day-to-day clothes. It all depends.

How long does it take you to prepare?

I am never prepared. I do have a blog plan for each month that I do. I plan out a somewhat structure of the posts I am going to do for the month ahead. Then, I try my best to schedule my posts a day or two before they need to go live. I always feel a lot more chilled out if I do it this way too.

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

It has its ups and its down there is absolutely no doubt about that. I do my best to stay out of any ‘drama’ and keep myself to myself because the ‘drama’ is what makes the community quite toxic. On the other hand I love the bookish community. I love how much it has brought to my life and how many people it has brought into my life. I love the book blogging community but sometimes I wish I could avoid it.

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Write what you love. Don’t write what other people want to see. Take your time to write about what you love and why you love it!

There you have it, the secret life of a book blogger tag! What do you love about blogging / what would you like to know about blogging? Let me know in the comments below!
