Most Anticipated Releases for the Rest of 2021! – Part Two

A couple of days ago I shared a post with some of my most anticipated releases for the rest of 2021. There are so many that I wanted to spilt it into two parts. You can find part one here. I cannot wait to read all these books! Here is part two of my most anticipated releases for the rest of 2021!

Green Rising by Lauren James

Gabrielle is a climate-change activist who shoots to fame when she becomes the first teenager to display a supernatural ability to grow plants from her skin. Hester is the millionaire daughter of an oil tycoon and the face of the family business. Theo comes from a long line of fishermen, but his parents are struggling to make ends meet.

On the face of it, the three have very little in common. Yet when Hester and Theo join Gabrielle and legions of other teenagers around the world in developing the strange new “Greenfingers” power, it becomes clear that to use their ability for good, they’ll need to learn to work together. But in a time of widespread corruption and greed, there are plenty of profit-hungry organizations who want to use the Greenfingers for their own ends. And not everyone would like to see the Earth saved…

As they navigate first love and family expectations, can the three teenagers pull off the ultimate heist and bring about a green rising?

Of course I am excited about Lauren Jame’s latest novel who would I be if I wasn’t! This one specifically sounds so interesting as it is a climate change story which I have read very little of. I will be pre-ordering this one and reading it as soon as I can. Bring on a new Lauren James book!

Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer

The kingdom of Kandala is on the brink of disaster. Rifts between sectors have only worsened since a sickness began ravaging the land, and within the Royal Palace, the king holds a tenuous peace with a ruthless hand.

King Harristan was thrust into power after his parents’ shocking assassination, leaving the younger Prince Corrick to take on the brutal role of the King’s Justice. The brothers have learned to react mercilessly to any sign of rebellion–it’s the only way to maintain order when the sickness can strike anywhere, and the only known cure, an elixir made from delicate Moonflower petals, is severely limited.

Out in the Wilds, apothecary apprentice Tessa Cade is tired of seeing her neighbors die, their suffering ignored by the unyielding royals. Every night, she and her best friend Wes risk their lives to steal Moonflower petals and distribute the elixir to those who need it most–but it’s still not enough.

Another book by Brigid Kemmerer? I am here for it! I don’t very often read fantasy books but there is something about Brigid Kemmerer’s writing that makes me want to read fantasy. She makes it so that I understand the story and don’t feel out of my depth like I usually do with fantasy. Bring on a new book by Brigid Kemmerer!

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao

Seventeen-year-old Julie has her future all planned out—move out of her small town with her boyfriend Sam, attend college in the city, spend a summer in Japan. But then Sam dies. And everything changes.

Heartbroken, Julie skips his funeral, throws out his things, and tries everything to forget him and the tragic way he died. But a message Sam left behind in her yearbook forces back memories. Desperate to hear his voice one more time, Julie calls Sam’s cellphone just to listen to his voicemail.

And Sam picks up the phone.

This is one that has been talked about non-stop online and one that I am so excited to read. The concept of this book is all I needed to know about to be hooked and then it started getting amazing reviews too. I cannot wait to give this one a read and share my thoughts with you all!

Here’s to Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera

SYNOPSIS FOR FIRST BOOK TO AVOID SPOILERS

Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?

This is the sequel to What If It’s Us which I absolutely adored. So, I cannot wait to finally read a sequel to this novel. It is bound to be cute and heart-warming and I am so ready to read it. I am looking forward to seeing what has happened with these characters and read another book by the powerhouse team Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera.
