Christmas Book Tag!

Merry Christmas! I hope you are all having a lovely Christmas and have got all the gifts you hoped for, have eaten all the food and just had the best time. I wanted to share a quick Christmas book tag with everyone today. This one was originally posted by Samantha from Novels and Nonsense. Without further ado, here is the Christmas book tag!

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release (s) are you most anticipating?

There are so many 2022 releases that I have on my most anticipated releases list. I wrote a whole 2 posts just dedicated to them. You can find them here and here. If I had to narrow it down to three though I would pick, I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston, Book Lovers by Emily Henry and The First to Die at the End by Adam Silvera. I cannot wait to read these in the new year!

Christmas Songs and Carols: What book or author can you not help but ing their praises?

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it so many more times, Taylor Jenkins Reid is outstanding. I started reading her books earlier on this year and I’ve made my way through most of her backlist since then. Her books are outstanding, her writing is captivating and she deserves all the hype. If you haven’t read anything by her yet I cannot recommend her books enough.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

I know this questions is likely to be about fantasy book but I am not the biggest fantasy reader so I’m choosing a mystery series instead. The Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes has some amazing world building. The mystery is well-built throughout each of the books and we get to learn a lot about each of the characters. I adore this series.

A Christmas Carol: Favourite classic or one that you want to read

I’ll be honest with you I don’t think I have ever read a classic. Not many of them appeal to me and I feel I am always worried I won’t enjoy them and will offend people because of that. One I would like to read at some point though is 1984 by George Orwell. It is my boyfriends favourite book so I want to see what I think of it.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

I’d love an early copy of The First to Die at the End by Adam Silvera but that is not realistic. So, I would love a copy of Writers and Lovers by Lily King as I’ve heard a lot of things about it recently.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

I have to say all of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series by Jenny Han. It is my comfort book and always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling no matter how many times I read it. I adore this series so much and I’m sure it will always have a place in my heart.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favourite book covers?

I won’t select specific ones but I adore covers that have hand-drawn illustrations or some fancy typography. I prefer simplistic covers over complicated ones but I do love when a cover has hidden aspects of the story which you only realise after you’e finished reading.

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favourite things about Christmas and / or some of you favourite Christmas memories?

I love the simple things on Christmas. Just being able to sit with family and loved ones and catch-up whilst eating good food. My favourite part of Christmas is probably giving gifts. I love getting gifts but I love watching people open gifts I’ve given then a whole lot more!

There you have it, the Christmas book tag! I loved answering these questions, it was a lot of fun! Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful festive season!
