Each year I set myself a few goals relating to my reading and blogging. Normally, I do two separate posts with them in. This year, I’m combining them all in one post. So, here are my blogging and reading goals for 2022.
Read 75 books
Last year I originally set my goal at 50 books and read 115. So, this year I’ve decided to up my goal to 75. I may read more than 75 but by setting it at this it does not pressure me into reading and as I found last year it allows me to enjoy my books. I do hope to read more than 75 books in 2022 but 75 is a number I would be proud of.
Support more indie book shops
At the minute I do most of my book buying in the big bookshops we all know about. Throughout 2022 I would love to support more independent book shops. There are a number of them near me which I would love to visit and I’d love to support more online in the future as well. I think it is so important to support indie book shops as they do not get the publicity that the big bookshops do even though they deserve it.
Host a book event
This was on my goals list back in 2020 and 2021 but due to the pandemic and other factors in the way, it has not been possible. I am hopeful that this year that will change though and more events will be allowed. I would absolutely love to host a book event in one of my libraries at some point in 2021.
Read a wider range of genres
would like to read a wider range of genres and go out of my comfort zone when it comes to reading. I’d like to pick something up that I would not normally read and give it a go even if I don’t end up liking it. More genres means I may end up with more genres on my favourites.
Keep up with my social media usage
In 2021 I found a lot more love for different social media platforms and I would like to continue this is in 2022. I’d like to keep up my usage of them all in 2022. I’d love to use Pinterest even more this year and gain more of a following there. I’d also like to do the same over on TikTok. I do not want to overdo the social media usage though and will keep a monitor on it.
