Halloween Book Tag!

In a few days, it will be Halloween! I love Halloween and all that comes with it. Decorating the house, pumpkins, sweets, all of it! Last year, I did the Halloween book tag and I wanted to give it another go this year. This tag is from Blogger Books and was a lot of fun to do. Here is the Halloween Book Tag!

Favourite scary must-read for Halloween?

I would have to say The Society for Soulless Girls by Laura Steven. This book is spooky and sinister. I couldn’t get it out of my mind and did not want to put it down. It is dark academia Jekyll and Hyde and I think is is absolutely perfect to read over the Halloween period. I cannot recommend it enough!

Scariest book cover?

I said this last year and I will say it again this year, this specific cover of American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis scares me beyond belief. I do not know what it is about it but I hate it a lot. I used to own a very tamed down cover which I was much happier to read as I couldn’t carry the other cover around with me.

If you could go trick-or-treating with any author, who would you go with?

I would have to say either Alice Oseman, Lauren James or Melinda Salisbury. I think they would all be a lot of fun to go trick-or-treating with and would have excellent costumes.

If you could dress up as any bookish character for Halloween, who would you be?

I’m going to go simple of this one and say Tori Spring from Solitaire and the Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman. I think it would be a nice simple costume and would match my personality very well.

If you could find anything (from any book) in your trick-or-treat stash, what would you hope it would be?

I’m sticking with my boring answer from last year for this one. I would love some Lembas bread in my trick-or-treat stash, the bread from Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is something I have always wanted to try and I would be so excited to see that in my stash even if it isn’t a sweet treat.

In what fictional world would you like to go trick-or-treating?

It isn’t a book fictional world but it is still a fictional world. I would love to go trick-or-treating in the Stranger Things world. I’m sure it would be a lot of fun and would always be entertaining as something spooky is bound to happen.

What book villain would you not like to meet in a dark alley on Halloween?

Vemon! He is the villain in some of the Spider-Man comics. I love his character but I think he would be absolutely terrifying to meet in a dark alley and I’d be quickly running in the opposite direction.

What would you rather dress up as: a vampire, zombie, werewolf or Shadowhunter?

I would have to say zombie because it is the only one of these that I am intrigued by.

What is your favourite Halloween candy?

Any sour sweets! I love sour sweets so any variety of them would be something I’d love I’m sure.

Have you got any plans for Halloween? What spooky books would you recommend? Let me know in the comments below!
