A couple of days ago I shared some of the books that are on my most anticipated releases of 2023 list. There are so many on there that I’ve split the post into two. You can find part one of my most anticipated releases of 2023 here. You can also find a full list of all the upcoming releases in 2023 here.
Today’s post is going to be all about the remaining books on my most anticipated releases of 2023 list. Here they are!

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs.
Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down. Because Jack Smith, the annoyingly attractive and broody older brother of her favorite client, turns out to be the cold-hearted experimental physicist who ruined her mentor’s career and undermined the reputation of theorists everywhere. And that same Jack who now sits on the hiring committee at MIT, right between Elsie and her dream job.
Elsie is prepared for an all-out war of scholarly sabotage but…those long, penetrating looks? Not having to be anything other than her true self when she’s with him? Will falling into an experimentalist’s orbit finally tempt her to put her most guarded theories on love into practice?

I know that there are mixed opinions out there about Ali Hazelwood’s books but I am a fan of them. So, I’m looking forward to reading another by here. This one sounds like it will be a lot of fun and it also has my favourite trope, fake dating. I’m looking forward to seeing what I think of this one.

My Week with Him by Joya Goffney
After a painful betrayal by her sister and a heated argument with their mother, Nikki is kicked out of her home. She decides to flee to California to pursue her dream music career.
When her best friend, Malachai, discovers her plan, he begs her to spend the remainder of spring break with him, so he can show her all the reasons she should stay in Texas. But their plans are interrupted when Nikki’s little sister, Vae, goes missing. Nikki is forced to work alongside her difficult mother, while navigating her budding romantic feelings for Malachai, as they all set off in search of Vae.
Over the course of a week, Nikki finds the love she’s always been missing, but will it be enough to convince her to stay in Texas?

I am so excited to read another book by Joya Goffney! I’ve read her previous two books and I loved them both. They are hilarious and fast-paced fun read. This one seems like it will be exactly the same. I cannot wait to give one a read and see what I think.

One of Us is Back by Karen M. McManus
Ever since Simon died in detention, life hasn’t been easy for the Bayview Crew. First the Bayview Four had to prove they weren’t killers. Then a new generation had to outwit a vengeful copycat. Now, it’s beginning again.
At first the mysterious billboard seems like a bad joke: Time for a new game, Bayview. But when a member of the crew disappears, it’s clear this ‘game’ just got serious – and no-one understands the rules.
Everyone’s a target. And now that someone unexpected has returned to Bayview, things are starting to get deadly.
Simon was right about secrets – they all come out in the end.

In the third instalment of the One of Us is Lying trilogy it seems like there is going to be even more drama and mystery. I cannot wait to see how this series is going to end and what is going to happen. Karen M. McManus books are always incredible and I’m sure this one will be no different!

The Brothers Hawthorne by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Grayson Hawthorne was raised as the heir apparent to his billionaire grandfather, taught from the cradle to put family first. Now the great Tobias Hawthorne is dead and his family disinherited, but some lessons linger. When Grayson’s half-sisters find themselves in trouble, he swoops in to do what he does best: take care of the problem—efficiently, effectively, mercilessly. And without getting bogged down in emotional entanglements.
Jameson Hawthorne is a risk-taker, a sensation-seeker, a player of games. When his mysterious father appears and asks for a favor, Jameson can’t resist the challenge. Now he must infiltrate London’s most exclusive underground gambling club, which caters to the rich, the powerful, and the aristocratic, and win an impossible game of greatest stakes. Luckily, Jameson Hawthorne lives for impossible.
Drawn into twisted games on opposite sides of the globe, Grayson and Jameson—with the help of their brothers and the girl who inherited their grandfather’s fortune—must dig deep to decide who they want to be and what each of them will sacrifice to win.

After loving The Inheritance Games trilogy, I’ve wanted nothing more than a book centred around Jameson and Grayson. So, I cannot contain my excitement for this one. It sounds like it is going to be as thrilling and fast-paced as the previous series and I want to get my hands on this one ASAP.

The Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary
It’s the busiest season of the year, and Forest Manor Hotel is quite literally falling apart. So when Izzy and Lucas are given the same shift on the hotel’s front desk, they have no choice but to put their differences aside and see it through.
The hotel won’t stay afloat beyond Christmas without some sort of miracle. But when Izzy returns a guest’s lost wedding ring, the reward convinces management that this might be the way to fix everything. With four rings still sitting in lost property, the race is on for Izzy and Lucas to save their beloved hotel – and their jobs.
As their bitter rivalry turns into something much more complicated, Izzy and Lucas begin to wonder if there’s more at stake here than the hotel’s future. Can the two of them make it through the season with their hearts intact?

Beth O’Leary is one of my current favourite authors. I’ve loved every single one of her books. So, I am looking forward to giving another of hers a read. This one sounds really interesting and I love the idea that the characters will be saving a beloved hotel. I’ll be reading this one as soon as I can!

Artifacts of an Ex by Jennifer Chen
When Chloe Chang gets dumped via USPS after moving across the county from NYC to LA, her first instinct is to throw her box of memories in the garbage. Instead, she starts buying up other teenagers’ break-up boxes to create an art exhibit, Heartifacts.
Opening night is great, until she spots Daniel Kwak filming his best friend’s reaction to his ex’s box. Daniel insists the video is for his short documentary, but Chloe demands he stop filming because she promised her contributors the utmost privacy for their mementos. Chloe and Daniel’s intense discussion launches their creative partnership and friendship.
Choosing to go for what she wants, Chloe asks Daniel out, but he says no. Daniel Kwan is always the guy who makes the girls he’s dating realize they want to get back with their ex. She insists she’s over her ex, but when he shows up unexpectedly with his new girlfriend, it turns out Daniel was right. She isn’t ready for a new relationship.
To create the exhibit she’s always wanted, Chloe needs to go back to basics, learn to work with artists in a more collaborative way, and discover what love can be. Only then will she convince Daniel she’s ready for something more than a rebound.

I read the synopsis of this one and immediately added it to my TBR. It sounds amazing and I love the concept of this book. I’ll be reading this one as soon as I can and I’m looking forward to seeing reviews coming in for this one soon.
