Thank you so much to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Lifelong singleton, Sophie, is looking for love. With her friends settling down and her family piling on the pressure, it seems that her anonymous column about relationships is more successful than her actual dating life. But now, with her sister’s wedding approaching, she’s determined not to turn up alone – and if she can’t find her soulmate in time, she’ll just have to fake one.
Enter Harry. Charming, attractive and seeking a post-break-up distraction, he answers Sophie’s plea on a dating app, promising an all-expenses-paid weekend to anyone crazy enough to go along with her charade. And with the wedding a hit and a calendar full of “couple” events on the horizon, the pair realise the only way they’ll survive the next few months is with each other – and a little white lie . . .
But as their love deception deepens and the pair grow closer, Sophie realises their charade may be holding them back from facing the truth. After all, when you’re pretending to be in love, how is it possible to find the real thing?

I’m always going to be excited about a book that takes the fake-dating trope and twists it into something new and unique. Faking It does just that and I had a lot of fun reading it.
Sophie is looking for love. All her friends are settling down and her family are piling on the pressure. With her sister’s wedding approaching, she is determined to not turn up alone. If she can’t find a date then she will have to fake one. Enter Harry, who is determined to help Sophie as long as she helps him in return.
The characters in this book are a lot of fun to read about. Sophie is funny, caring and learning who she is. I enjoyed how we get to see Sophie grow to love herself more as the book progresses and learn to accept herself a whole lot more. Harry is an excellent love interest for Sophie and their chemistry is something readers can pick up on instantly. I enjoyed them as a pair.
There are a number of side characters in the book some of which I would have loved to see more of. Sophie’s work friend being one of them. Some of their opinions of Sophie are harsh and made me quite angry. But, that is the reality of what some people face on a daily basis whilst being single.
There are so many moments in this book that had me laughing as little comments Sophie makes or situations she finds herself in. Alongside the laugh-out-loud moments, there are moments that discuss the lower moments in Sophie’s life. I feel a lot of readers will relate to Sophie and what she is going through and feel joy and sadness along with her.
I loved how this book comes to a close. It didn’t end how I was expecting it to which took me by surprise but I was a big fan of it. I wish more romance books would go down an ending like this as it felt refreshing to read.
Beth Reekles is certainly an author whose books I will continue to pick up. They are always fun and bring a smile to my face. If you have yet to read a book by her, I would highly recommend giving her books a go.
Overall, Faking It is a funny, unique and quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would certainly recommend giving it a read!
