Reading Tastes Tag

I love seeing what other people’s reading tastes are like and how they differ to mine. So, I thought I would give the Reading Tastes Tag a go. This one was created by BookTuber Harriet Rose. Here is the Reading Tastes Tag.

That is such a difficult question! I think I’d have to go with: Searching for joy between the pages but if it comes with some mysteries too then that’s ok.

I’ve going to consult my StoryGraph stats for this one. I tend to pick up more contemporary, romance and literary fiction books. They bring me joy so it works perfectly.

I tend to lean towards books that are between 250-500 pages long. Long books scare me and always make me feel intimidated. Shorter books are much easier to pick up in my opinion. Also, I lean more towards medium paced books.

I think these books describe my reading taste pretty well. A mix of romance, literary fiction and humour. These are some of my favourite books I’ve read in the past couple of years too.

I thought I was going to love Secretly, Yours by Tessa Bailey because it is something I would usually enjoy. But, I didn’t enjoy it one bit which is annoying.

I picked up Love & Saffron by Kim Fay completely on a whim and didn’t expect to enjoy it. But, it is one of my favourite books I read last year. It took me by surprise how much I enjoyed it and I’ve been recommending it ever since.

All of these book have been on my TBR for a while now and I cannot wait to read them. I’m hoping I will enjoy them all as they are certainly the sort of books I usually go for.

My reading taste has certainly changed over time. A couple of years ago I read exclusively YA books and very rarely diverted away from that genre. But, nowadays I will pick up almost anything if it sounds interesting. My reading taste has grown up with me I think.

There you have it, the Reading Tastes Tag! What are your reading tastes like? Let me know in the comments below!
