When this post goes live, I will be on Holiday, in my happy place, soaking up the sunshine and reading lots of books. I cannot wait to be back in Lanzarote and I’ve got a lot of books in my suitcase for my planned reading. I wanted to share what my TBR is for the holiday. I’ll be splitting it into two parts because there are a lot of books. Here is part one of my holiday TBR for Lanzarote!

The Pairing by Casey McQuiston
Theo and Kit have been a lot of things: childhood best friends, crushes, in love, and now estranged exes. After a brutal breakup on the transatlantic flight to their dream European food and wine tour, they exited each other’s lives once and for all.
Time apart has done them good. Theo has found confidence as a hustling bartender by night and aspiring sommelier by day, with a long roster of casual lovers. Kit, who never returned to America, graduated as the reigning sex god of his pastry school class and now bakes at one of the finest restaurants in Paris. Sure, nothing really compares to what they had, and life stretches out long and lonely ahead of them, but—yeah. It’s in the past.
All that remains is the unused voucher for the European tour that never happened, good for 48 months after its original date and about to expire. Four years later, it seems like a great idea to finally take the trip. Solo. Separately.
It’s not until they board the tour bus that they discover they’ve both accidentally had the exact same idea, and now they’re trapped with each other for three weeks of stunning views, luscious flavors, and the most romantic cities of France, Spain, and Italy. It’s fine. There’s nothing left between them. So much nothing that, when Theo suggests a friendly wager to see who can sleep with their hot Italian tour guide first, Kit is totally game. And why stop there? Why not a full-on European hookup competition?

This is the first book that I added to my holiday TBR. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book so I want to read it at the earliest possible opportunity. I think it would be the perfect book to read at the start of the holiday. I’m looking forward to seeing what Casey McQuiston has to offer in this new book.
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it’s now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They’ll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.
Emma hadn’t planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.
It’s supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma’s toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they’re suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected–including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

Abby Jimenez’s books remind me of summer and going on holiday. I have taken one of her books with me to Lanzarote for the past couple of years and I am so glad that a new one has been released in time for my holiday. This one has been getting some incredible reviews and I cannot wait to dive into it and see what I think.
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways.
Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance. There’s just one catch.
Due to an antiquated clause in his grandfather’s will, Liam won’t see a penny until he’s been happily married for five years. Just when Liam thinks he’s in the home stretch, pressure mounts from his family to see this mysterious spouse, and he has no choice but to turn to the one person he’s afraid to introduce to his one-percenter parents—his unpolished, not-so-ex-wife.
But in the presence of his family, Liam’s fears quickly shift from whether the feisty, foul-mouthed, paint-splattered Anna can play the part to whether the toxic world of wealth will corrupt someone as pure of heart as his surprisingly grounded and loyal wife. Liam will have to ask himself if the price tag on his flimsy cover story is worth losing true love that sprouted from a lie.

A new Christina Lauren book with fake dating and a marriage of convenience which sounds exceptional. Of course I had to add it to my holiday TBR and I cannot wait to read it by the pool. I think this is one that I will read in a couple of sittings. It has been getting amazing reviews already and I cannot wait to read it.
In the Shallows by Tanya Byrne
On New Year’s Day, three fishermen haul a teenage girl out of the ocean. By the time they bring her to land, it’s clear that she doesn’t know where or who she is. Her story goes viral. The media calls her Nicoletta, after the fishermen’s boat. The rumors take a dark turn the next time the fishermen head out to sea―and fail to return. People say Nicoletta lured them to their deaths―their lives in exchange for hers.
And with that, the mystery becomes a legend.
Eighteen months later, Mara Malakar meets Nicoletta, or Nico, at a café. The two become fast friends, but as Mara realizes she wants more from their relationship, Nico remains oblivious, focused only on remembering. She may not want to, though. Could there be a reason she’s locked everything behind a door? And once she’s brave enough to open it, what will happen to her? To them?

I’ve read a couple of things by Tanya Bryne in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed them. So, when this one was released I wanted to pick it up and give it a go. It sounds different from her other books so I’m unsure what my opinions of it are going to be. But, I think it would be a good one to read whilst on holiday so I can really concentrate on it.
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
A.J. Fikry, the grumpy owner of Island Books, is going through a hard time: his bookshop is failing, he has lost his beloved wife, and a prized rare first edition has been stolen.
But one day A.J. finds two-year-old Maya sitting on the bookshop floor, with a note attached to her asking the owner to look after her. His life – and Maya’s – is changed forever.

I’ve been meaning to read this one for quite some time now. It has been sat on my TBR and is one I pick up quite often but never actually begin reading. I think it would be a lovely holiday read and is said to be perfect for all book lovers. So, I’m looking forward to reading this one whilst I’m away.

There you have it, part one of what is on my TBR for my holiday this year. I’ll be sharing part two very soon, so keep your eye out for that. Are you going on holiday this year and if so, where and what do you plan on reading? Let me know in the comments below!
