Indie Bookstore Tag

Whilst looking at book tags the other day, I spotted the Indie Bookstore tag and knew I wanted to do it soon. I spotted it over on ZeZee with Books who always has fun book tags to spark your interest. This one in particular seemed like it would be a lot of fun. Here is the Indie Bookstore tag.

I have two books in my bag at the minute. The first is The Examiner by Janice Hallett which I’ve around 40% into, I’m enjoying and have borrowed from my local library. The other is actually the book I’m reading on my Kindle which is Promising Young Women by Caroline O’Donoghue which I’m around 30% into and thoroughly enjoying so far.

I’d have to say Daydream by Hannah Grace which I absolutely adored. There was so much hype around this book on the internet and it deserved every single bit and more. If you haven’t read books by Hannah Grace yet, you are missing out!

I think that would have to be The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James which I’ve gifted to quite a few people over the years. It is one of my favourite ever books and I just wan everyone to read it.

This has to be House of Books & Friends in Manchester. It is such a lovely little indie bookshop with an amazing selection of books. It also hosts events and has a cafe inside too. If you are ever in Manchester I’d highly recommend giving it a visit.

It would have to be Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi which a local bookseller recommended to me. I went home, read it immediately and adored it. The entire series is extremely beautiful.

I have so many of them! A couple that stand out would be having the opportunity to interview Alice Oseman and Lauren James in my favourite bookshop. Or, when I got the chance to help a mum and her daughter pick out a selection of YA books she would enjoy reading. Bookshops are just wonderful place.

They mean the absolute world to me. Bookshops are my safe place, a place where I can go to switch off and calm down and a place I can treat myself. They are a place of so many possibilities and I am so beyond grateful that they exist.

It would have to be Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. The minute that arrives at my house I am dropping everything and reading it immediately and I cannot wait!

There you have it, the Indie Bookstore tag! What is your favourite indie bookshop and why? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Lovely answers 😊 Bookshops are wonderful. I’ve been to Manchester many times, but never to that bookshop so thank you for the recommendation! Hope you enjoy your current reads, I read The Appeal quite recently and now starting to catch up with Janice Hallett’s books.
