New Releases I’m Excited For – October

October is almost here and there are loads of amazing new books coming out throughout the month of October. So, I wanted to share the ones I’m most excited about in this post. Here are the new book releases I’m excited for in October!

For a few beautiful months, Wes and girl-next-door Liz were together. But right as the two were about to set off to UCLA together, tragedy struck and their relationship ended.

Flash forward and Wes and Liz find themselves in college, together. In a healthier place now, Wes knows he broke Liz’s heart, but is determined to make her fall back in love with him. And he has a foolproof plan to win her back with the rom-com worthy big gestures she loves. Only … Liz will have none of it. Wes has to scheme like a rom-com hero to figure out how to see her. Even worse, Liz has a new friend…a guy friend.

Still, Wes won’t give up and is determined to win back Liz’s affection. But after his best efforts get him nowhere, he’s is left wondering if their relationship is really over for good.

This is the long await sequel to Better Than the Movies and you bet I’m so excited to give it a read. I loved Wes and Liz in the first book and I’m looking forward to being back with them, seeing how they are both doing and what is going on with their relationship. I’m sure this will be at the top of my TBR when my pre-order arrive.

Tucked away down a Kyoto backstreet lies the extraordinary Kamogawa Diner. Running this unique establishment are a father-daughter duo who serve more than just mouth-watering feasts.

The pair have reinvented themselves as ‘food detectives’, offering a service that goes beyond traditional dining. Through their culinary sleuthing, they reconstruct beloved dishes from the memories of their customers, creating a connection to cherished moments from the past.

Among those who seek an appointment include: a one-hit wonder pop star, finally ready to leave Tokyo and give up on her singing career, wants to try the tempura that she ate to celebrate her only successful record and a budding Olympic swimmer who desires the bento lunch box that his estranged father used to make him. The Kamogawa Diner doesn’t just serve meals – it revives lost recipes and rekindles forgotten memories. It’s a doorway to the past through the miracle of delicious food.

After reading the first book in this series last year, I’m so excited to have another one to read. The concept is so fun and unique and incredibly easy to get hooked into. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new recipes will be, who they will be for and what memories they rekindle. I’ve pre-ordered this one too!

An exploited child worker in the silver mines of Bolivia finds an ally – but at what cost? A young woman’s workplace affair has terrifying repercussions when her lover’s wife dies. A sailor’s wife takes her communion with Nature a little too far…

From a hungry young woman who is not what she seems, to a boy who has taken his mother’s advice a touch too seriously; from disfigured girls willing to pay any price to fit in, to an immigrant who cannot escape his tormentor; from a new home with a sinister secret, to the discovery that a long-dead parent’s corpse is perfectly preserved decades later; this collection plumbs the depths of the psyche and dredges up some very modern horrors.

I saw this one the other day whilst browsing new book lists and it sounds amazing! I think it will be perfect to read one story per day in the run up to halloween and that is what I’m hoping to do. It features stories by so many well-know horror authors and I’m sure some of the stories will be terrifying.
