August has come to an end. So much happened to me in August and I have done a lot in August! I’ll talk about all of that further on in the post, so, let’s get on with what happened in August?
I only managed to read 3 books this month. 1 audio book, 1 graphic novels and 1 novel. I am only a few chapters away from finishing another book though so it is almost 4. I was in another dreaded reading slump this month so struggled with reading until the middle of the month. Here are the books I read this month:
- That’s Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger (Novel) 4★‘s
- Lucky Penny by Ananth Hirsh and Yuko Ota (Graphic Novel) 4★‘s
- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (Audio Book) 5★‘s

I planned by blog posts again at the beginning of this month and I am getting a lot better at sticking to the plan. I occasionally get ideas for posts which I want to write and post immediately and go off plan. Planning at the beginning of the month is really helping me keep on track with blogging though. Here are my top 5 posts for August:
- YALC Wrap-Up 2018!
- YALC Book Haul!
- September Releases I’m Excited For
- Must Watch YA Film Adaptations!
- What I hope to read in the rest of 2018!
I have changed my reading goal once again. I am reading a lot more than I thought I would this year. I have changed it from 40 to 50 books to reads this year. I am currently at 6 books ahead of schedule with my reading challenge at the minute. I have read a total of 39 books this year. I now have £195 saved up, this is after putting aside £5 for every book I read this year. I now have no idea what I am going to put this money towards, me and my Mum are doing this and are planning on doing something together with our money, we can’t figure out what yet.
I started this month by going to a job interview for a job I really wanted to get. The interview went really well but I had to wait a while to know the outcome.
A few days after my interview I went out to dinner with three of my best bookish friends, Kimi, Fiona and Katie. This dinner wasn’t just the three of us though the lovely folk from Pan Macmillan were there along with best selling author Tomi Adeyemi. This dinner was extraordinary, the food was delicious and Tomi is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. I got home from this meal and had a little bit of a cry because when I started this blog I had no idea I would be going out for meals with authors.
Just a few days after the meal I received the news that I had got the job I had been to the interview for. I am officially a digital marketing assistant and I am so happy. I have been looking for a job like this for a long time and I am incredibly happy it is now my job. I will be starting on the 10th September and only have a few more days at my current job. Although I am upset to be leaving where I work at the minute, it is the best decision I could make for my future. I will miss everyone I work with a lot though.
There was another TEENSgate blogger event this month and it was so lovely to catch up with everyone. It was also lovely to go out for a meal later that day with the lovely Sarah and Sophie my bookish besties I don’t know what I would do without.
Me and my boyfriend David got to go on a lot more days out this month thanks to when I had my days off from work. We spent a night away in Manchester and visited a castle in Skipton. We are also going to York in the next couple of days for a little break before I start my new job.
I also met Carrie Hope Fletcher again this month and she was lovely as always.
I have also offically been blogging for two years and cannot believe it! Thank you all for reading my posts I appreciate it so much! I cannot wait to keep blogging for years to come.
September is going to be a busy month for me because I am starting my new job but I hope to keep blogging and reading as much as I can!
August is already over for another year! I have a good feeling about September and I hope I get a lot done!
