Number of.png

A couple of days ago I made a post discussing some of my most anticipated books of 2019. I had too many books for just a one part post. So, I split it into two posts. You can find part one here, where I discussed the first 5 of my most anticipated books of 2019. In this part I will be discussing the other 5 books I am most excited for! Here is part two!

The Quiet at the End of the World by Lauren James

32716442.jpg“Lowrie and Shen are the youngest people on the planet after a virus caused global infertility. Closeted in a pocket of London and doted upon by a small, ageing community, the pair spend their days mudlarking for artefacts from history and looking for treasure in their once-opulent mansion.

Their idyllic life is torn apart when a secret is uncovered that threatens not only their family but humanity’s entire existence. Lowrie and Shen face an impossible choice: in the quiet at the end of the world, they must decide who to save and who to sacrifice . . .”

This is easily my most anticipated book of 2019. Lauren James is one of my favourite authors of all time with The Loneliest Girl in the Universe being my favourite book. I cannot wait to finally get my hands on this book and to finally read it. I am sure you will get fed up with me talking about this book in the upcoming months!

Beauty Sleep by Kathryn Evans

42243323“Laura was dying. There was no cure for her illness. So her family decided to grasp a desperate last hope – Laura was frozen until she could be cured.

But what happens when you wake up one day and the world has moved on forty years? Your best friend is middle-aged, your parents presumed dead. Could you find a new place to belong? Could you build a new life – while solving the mystery of what happened to the old one?”

This book sounds incredible! A book that is described as reading like an episode of Black Mirror. I am a huge fan of Black Mirror so this description drew me in immediately. Having read the first chapter of this book I am even more excited to read this book when it is released!

Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

9781760295738“The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…

A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering”

I love the Illuminae Files series that Jay and Amie wrote together, so as soon as I heard they were writing another series together I was excited! Having seen the cover and read more about the book I cannot wait to read this book. I love a good sci-fi series and this has all the things I love about sci-fi!

Last Bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron

91KNOSmdAkL+(1)“Brody Fair has had enough of real life. Enough of the bullies on his block, of being second best to his genius brother, and of not fitting in at school or at home. Then one day he meets Nico. Colourful, confident and flamboyant, he promises to take Brody to Everland, a diverse magical place. A place where he can be himself, where there are no rules, time doesn’t pass, and the party never ends. The only catch? It’s a place so good, you could lose yourself and forget what’s real.”

I loved Sophie Cameron’s firs novel Out of the Blue and as soon as this was announced I was excited! I love Sophie’s writing and I cannot wait to pick this up. Here writing seems to captivate me in the worlds and stories she creates and I cannot wait for this book to be released.

Birthday by Meredith Russo

39863399

“Two kids, Morgan and Eric, are bonded for life after being born on the same day at the same time. We meet them once a year on their shared birthday as they grow and change: as Eric figures out who he is and how he fits into the world, and as Morgan makes the difficult choice to live as her true self. Over the years, they will drift apart, come together, fight, make up, and break up—and ultimately, realize how inextricably they are a part of each other.”

This book took my interest immediately because it seems a little bit unusual because of the way that it appears to be written. A story about two boys who are bonded for life because they were born at the exact same time. We get a glimpse into their lives once a year. This book really intrigues me and I cannot wait to give it a read.
