I cannot believe today is the last day of 2018! I am going to be doing all my 2018 end of year posts in the first week of 2019, so look out for them! For now I am going to talk about what happened in December! December has been a hard month for me and I haven’t blogged as much as I would have liked to but I will explain why I haven’t in this post! Here is what happened in December!
I read 8 books this month. I managed to read 2 graphic novels, 1 audio book and 5 novels. I think I went into a panic that I wouldn’t complete my reading challenge if I didn’t read a lot this month. I am not going to be putting that pressure on myself nice year!
- Heartstopper by Alice Oseman (Graphic Novel) 5★‘s
- Paper Avalanche by Lisa Williamson (Novel) 4★‘s
- The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher (Audio Book) 4★‘s
- Hilda and the Hidden People by Luke Pearson (Novel) 4★‘s
- Giant Days: Volume One by John Allison (Graphic Novel) 4★‘s
- Fierce Fragile Hearts by Sara Barnard (Novel) 5★‘s
- The Last Hedgehog by Pam Ayres (Novel) 5★‘s
- My True Love Gave to Me by Various Authors (Novel) 4★‘s

I didn’t post anywhere near as much as I would have liked to this month. I had so many blog posts planned but so many things got in the way of me writing them all down. I am planning of keeping these ideas for posts in January or February! I have a lot planned for the next few months. I did post this month though and here are my top 5 posts for December!
- January Releases I’m Excited About!
- Perfect YA Books to Read at Christmas
- Most Anticipated Books of 2019 – Part One
- Most Anticipated Books of 2019 – Part Two
- November Goals Recap
I made my reading goal of 60 books read this year! This means that I now have £300 saved up, this is after putting aside £5 for every book I read this year. I am so proud with the amount I have saved just by reading books! Me and my Mum have yet to book our trip to Barcelona but it is definitely going to happen at some point! I will definitely be putting £5 aside for every book I read in the New Year. It means I can treat myself to something nice at the end of the year for doing something I love, or keep saving up. It has been an excellent way to save money. I am also proud to have reached 60 books read this year. Last year I only read 27 books, so I have doubled my total from last year and I am incredibly proud of myself for this.
December has been an incredibly hard month for me. I started out the month by coming home from work one day and finding my dog sitting completely still on the chair. This isn’t normal at all for my dog, when she got up she collapsed. Me and my family had to rush her to the vets. This is where we discovered that her auto immune disease had come back. We were told the outcome could go either way. I don’t think I slept properly for nearly 2 weeks. Maggie did come home from the vets after staying there for a few days but wasn’t out of the woods yet. Fast forward to now and she is a lot better. Although she isn’t her old self she is a lot better. Maggie is a fighter and doesn’t seem to let anything get her. I am so glad she is still here because she is my best friend and I would be lost without her.
Maggie being ill took up most of my month, I didn’t really do much else. I did have a lovely Christmas with family though. As well as a much needed break from work.
I am looking forward to 2019 and cannot wait to see what it holds for me and this blog!
Thank you all so much for the support you have given me and my blog in 2018! I have achieved so much this year thanks to you all. You support means a lot to me! I cannot wait to see what 2019 hold and I cannot wait to keep posting!
Until next time,
I have decided to try and put money back for every book I read thanks to you. I am so glad your dog is doing better.
