My Auto Buy Authors

Hello all, before I get into this post I want to share a link with you all. This is a link to a site where you can learn more about the Black Lives Matter movement. On this site you can sign petitions, donate, read useful information and find resources to help you educate yourself and others.

Please make sure that you are continuously uplifting Black people’s voices as well as the Black Lives Matter movement in every way that you possibly can. Be sure to educate yourselves, talk with your friends and family at home about being actively anti-racist, sign petitions and listen to what Black people are saying.

Today I wanted to talk about some of my auto buy authors. We all have them! Authors whose books you’ve read and loved and would buy anything that they write. Sometimes, you don’t even read the synopsis and just buy their books because you know you love what the author writes. Here are my auto buy authors.

Lauren James

Would it really be a blog post by me if I didn’t include Lauren James and her books. Lauren could write absolutely anything and I would instantly buy it, it is that simple. There is something about the way that Lauren writes that always has me intrigued and completely hooked. Give me a new Lauren James book and I’ll immediately read it and not stop until I’m done. It is safe to say I am extremely excited for The Reckless Afterlife of Harrier Stoker which is out in September!

Alice Oseman

Do I own every single book that Alice Oseman has ever released, including a colouring book? Yes! Alice Oseman never fails to write absolutely stunning books. They uplift me, break my heart and bring me so much joy at the same time. Alice always tackles a lot of real-world issues in her books and she does so with a lot of thought and care. Some of my favourite ever characters from books come from Alice’s books and I even did a post completely dedicated to my favourite Alice Oseman characters! I will buy anything that Alice releases and cannot wait for her newest release Loveless, coming in July!

Yasmin Rahman

Yasmin may only have published one novel of her own and had a story in an anthology but she has very quickly become an auto buy author of mine. Yasmin’s debut novel is captivating, heart-breaking and heart-warming and I couldn’t put it down. Every time Yasmin discusses her writing journey on Twitter I get excited. I cannot wait to see what Yasmin writes next and I can promise you I will be buying it immediately!

Juno Dawson

Juno writes books that I read when I am in need of some pure escapism. I adore her writing, the topics and issues she discusses and the characters that she creates. I would buy anything that Juno publishes immediately most likely without reading the synopsis. I cannot recommend Juno’s books enough. Juno’s books are a delight and she will forever be an auto buy author for me.

Lisa Williamson

I recently read Lisa Williamson’s 2021 release First Day of My Life and let me tell you, you are in for a treat when it is released. This book alone could make Lisa Williamson an auto buy author for me. But, I also love her other books too, which makes her for sure an auto buy author for me. Keep your eyes peeled for Lisa’s new book in 2021 but for now I highly recommend her other novels, especially Paper Avalanche.

Elizabeth Acevedo

The wonderful bookish community introduced me to the pure talent that is Elizabeth Acevedo’s books. Elizabeth writes stunning books that you just cannot put down, books that every one needs to read. Elizabeth Acevedo has very quickly become an auto buy author for me as I’m sure she has for many others. I cannot recommend her books enough!

Angie Thomas

Angie Thomas not only has a way with words but she also has a way with making you feel a whole host of emotions whilst reading her books. If you have not yet read a book by Angie Thomas, I urge you to stop right now and order both The Hate U Give and On the Come Up and read them immediately. Angie is an auto buy author of mine for a number of reasons and I’m sure she always will be.

Phil Stamper

Phil Stamper may only have one published book but just from that one book alone he has become an auto buy author for me. His debut novel is so sweet and The Gravity of Us is one of my favourite books of 2020 so far. I cannot wait to see what else Phil Stamper releases in the future and I am especially excited for his Valedictorians series coming out in a few years. I’m sure anything he releases I will buy immediately.

Jason Reynolds

It is only in the past couple of years that I was introduced to Jason Reynolds and his writing. I’m so glad this happened because his writing is absolutely phenomenal. I recently flew through Long Way Down and it cemented for me that Jason Reynolds is an auto buy author for me. His writing is incredible and if you are yet to read anything by him I highly recommend you pick up something by him. I’m very lucky that my libraries digital app has a lot of his books, which is where I am reading them, so be sure to check yours too!

Karen M. McManus

Karen M. McManus was the author that introduced me to YA crime/thrillers and I am so glad that she did. I seem to only read Karen’s books whilst I am on holiday in Lanzarote. I don’t know why this is but her newest book is always first on my holiday TBR. I bought her latest release without knowing anything at all about it and I want to go into it not knowing what to expect. As my holiday to Lanzarote (which would have started today) has been cancelled, as expected, I am going to start it very soon as it feels right. I adore Karen’s books though and she is certainly an auto buy author for me.

There you have it, my auto buy authors! Do you have any auto buy authors, if so, who are they and why? Let me know in the comments below!
